Doom

Just played a match of the beta and its surprisingly fun. The only thing is theres no weapon pickups :( just loadouts and you start with a full clip. So its more like rocket arena I guess. Very noob friendly. Plays like quake3

    I played it with Virtual Desktop.  Crank up the in game setting for field of view to 110, and then size the virtual monitor so that it is just barely wider than your field of view while you are facing forward.

    The result is an unbelievably fun (intense comfort level) experience.

    I couldn't find a console so I couldn't hunt for possibly console cmds related to HMDs.  I didn't try too hard yet though. It would be way better if the game actually supported VR directly.  Or if I could somehow to get it to render stereoscopic images to Virtual Desktop.

    Oh man I couldn't disagree more about this Beta. Having played a fair few games like this (Unreal Tournament, Quake, Halo etc) it just feels all kinds of wrong to me. The weapons feel a bit crappy (apart from the shotgun) and the speed just doesn't feel right.

    I dunno, it may just be me but it's like someone took Halo and Unreal Tournament, mashed them together and made a game out of the less good parts. It just really feels like it's missing something.

    I'm glad that you guys are enjoying it though, I'd hate for the Doom franchise to fail because of a beta.
