Question

GOG.com like Steam?

I was just looking at CDkeys.com and some of their games tell you to activate them on GOG.com. I've used Steam to activate keys, but I've never used GOG.com. I'm just wondering if anyone has used GOG.com for games and if it's like Steam or something entirely different? Do you just login to GOG.com to play your games like you do with Steam?

Sorry for not getting back to you - my time is so finite at the moment. But it looks like LZoltowski had you covered!

Either way - I am a big supporter of both Steam and GOG. Honestly I have to many games on Steam now to consider migrating away from it completely - but I prefer GOG's DRM-free policy, I wish Steam would adopt it. I plan on buying Cyberpunk 2077 through GOG whenever it releases - same with most big games going forward, last one I bought was Shadow Warrior 2 (the first of which I bought on Steam).

I find Steam usually has the better sales simply because the catalog of games is larger and not catered towards classic gaming. I have copies of most of my favourite classics on GOG including System Shock Enhanced Edition, which was just updated and now you can use Reshade on it (works surprising like well on older games, I like to add things like CRT effects on the older games - it softens the image in a much more accurate way to how they looked in my memory, as opposed to using a linear texture filter, which just makes everything look like mush to me.
