I am on level 3 in few days but what does this mean?

Why are we promoted to these levels? any idea?

    It's preparation for Skynet. The higher level you are the less threat you are to our future machine overlords.

    Me and @Zenbane are going to be quite safe when the shit hits the fan.

    Hi Priyah,
    Levels are a measure of self worth. I feel depressed at being only a level 7.
    Although I know I can increase my level by posting more, I choose to be a higher quality, lesser mortal rather than the other. ;)

    You feel depressed I have been on this forum commenting since 2013 and I only have level 8 :)
