http://www.engadget.com/2015/07/30/mr-r ... interview/witter I actually mind less because I think it's meant for publication, for publishing. It's not necessarily about relationships; it's more of a platform to distribute entertainment via witty tweets, links or whatever. ... But Facebook is where I really have the problem. Because those are meant to be my private interactions with my family and close friends. And here we are giving it to a large corporation. ... They have all this information on us, and that's exactly how they make money, and they're going to monetize it. And there's just something incredibly dangerous about that. There were these discoveries that Facebook has been conducting psychological tests and social experiments, and then using the information they know about you to manipulate how you feel about certain things. I mean, just think about the consequences of that. A corporation whose sole purpose is profit, knowing all these personal intimate details of your life, a

http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-33524589"Because the observations are all run on an automated command sequence, New Horizons had to fly a perfect path past Pluto, and with perfect timing - otherwise its cameras would have shot empty sky where the dwarf or its moons were expected to be.This necessitated aiming New Horizons at a "keyhole" in space just 100km by 150km (60miles by 90 miles), and arriving at that location within a set margin of 100 seconds. The last indications were that New Horizons was on the button of that aim point, being perhaps 70km closer to the surface of Pluto than anticipated, and arriving about 72 seconds early. All this was achieved after a multi-billion-km flight across the Solar System lasting nine-and-a-half years."
Sorry for my former message. I was in rage because I haven't enough euro to buy a new graphic card and I was blocked. Now it's different, hope comes back since some gtx 680 or gtx 970 would be ok.

Well there, aren't we in marvelous company.http://vrfocus.com/archives/19305/duche ... ulus-rift/Doesn't it make you feel so humble and blessed.I only just hope the Duchess doesn't want to try it on the Royal Laptop.Watch out for posts thus:"My Husband and I can't for goodness sake get this thing to go."Anyway, those Royals are now part of the excitement as 2016 gets closer.
I should have gotten screenshots for you guys. I normally wouldn't rant, but I was just in a short conversation on the Facebook virtual reality page, trying to help someone understand (Gently) that their AMD APU laptop would not be able to run the DK2 in any working capacity. All the while, a poorly spoken young lad was belittling me and attempting to derail any and all assistance that I tried to give, claiming that I obviously didn't know anything after my ten years in IT, and my EET degree. I'm not even joking, he told me that my college degree and my IT training means absolutely nothing. At one point, they were talking about how he had 64Gb RAM in his $800 laptop, and the kid mentioned his "dell core duo 34 byte". He was just going to the ends of the earth to convince this guy that his cheap laptop could handle the DK2. Normally I would assume that someone was trolling, but this kid was dead serious. It irks me so strongly that we can't do something to get rid of all these horrible i
You know what would be awesome? Some chat, where we could talk online about Oculus Rift. Maybe we can shorten the waiting time. :) Guys, is this possible to have it here?Tomas.
I want to open up a discussion about the possibility that PD could actually just be judder from an old runtime, rather than being neurological in basis as previously thought, which is going to be my PhD thesis. It would require a lot more research into the brain, including research that substantiates my contention that the brain actually does run runtime software implanted there by a divine creator, which is the key assumption upon which the entire theory rests. Any medical students or physicans here, BTW?
Interested in THE VOID, take a look at my latest episode where I talk with their CTO. I also have Chris Madsen and Shannon Norrell on, both have tried THE VOID and share their experience with us. It's a great episode, possibly my best. It would be great if users could share their PC system specs and general performance with the Rift. Ideally, I would like to sample enough users to come up with a "minimum requirements" & "recommended requirements" baseline for best performance on a PC. Please post reply with a short message indicating: 1. Processor type & speed 2. Video Card make & model3. Amount of RAM4. Anything else relevant to Rift performance5. Your impression of the performance of the Rift, on your systemThanks in advance!
**(in my Morpheus voice)**...... "I have dreamed a dreamed...A dream of the day I could be at home playing a Video Game from the racing genre(+++let me pause a sec to say that when I was a kid my favorite genre of games was racing games....I jus always felt like a good racer would make you feel like your really inside the game...really inside a beautiful sports car driving 180 mph threw London...I loved it...but as I grew older it seems like they reached a peak and every racer has been the same for the last 15yrs with no one really doing something industry changing....while other Genres were able to surpass them, FPS for example....).+++ **story continued**>>" with a Headset that would allow me to actually become closer to that feeling I had when I played these games as a kid.....".. The Genre that will benefit the most from the Rift if done right will be......: Racing, Survival Horror( duh), and SPorts (If the Rift Touch becomes what we hope)... The reason I feel Racers have
Hello All,I was just having some thoughts regarding monitors and thought I would jot them down in case they might generate some interesting conversations. With the latest iteration of the AMD gaming cards coming out it became painfully obvious that AMD is ready to move away from the Dual Link DVI interface, because they completely got rid of it. The large plug and large (expensive) cables are probably some of the reasons for moving away from this interface and the new display port technology can provide the same throughput at a fraction of the size. It is rather unfortunate that so many great monitors still rely on Dual Link DVI input. While new monitor technology is always great, it is pretty pointless when the games you want to play are not optimized for it. There are many ways to trick a game to work on a monitor with an unsupported resolution, but this usually causes more issues than it fixes. Just like we see with 4K TVs right now, there is a very limited amount of content tha
Hey folks! I'd liked to introduce myself and talk about my VR show I do in VRChat every Tuesday.I'm Gunter and I'm addicted to VR, especially social VR apps like VRChat, where I broadcast my show from, Convrge, Riftmax, Altspace and Janus VR. Been playing around with VR for 2 years now. Love my DK1, DK2 and GearVR.I spend 10's of hours in VRChat every week. Mostly hosting my show Gunters Universe. My show is sort of the "game" I'm developing. I have a virtual set (made in Unity) where I bring out VR devs/personalities from the community to discuss all things VR and tech. There is a virtual audience that joins us. We also have a virtual camera system used to record and stream the show. Its a novel experience.I'm very proud of my work and am sharing it for the first time here on the oculus forums. I'd like to hear your feedback and invite you out on Tuesday's at 9:30 eastern (GMT -4) for a show like none other.Reddit Post: http://redd.it/3avn2sWebsite: http://guntersuniverse.comVRChat: h
Our video game laboratory at MacEwan University in Alberta, Canada has been examining the effects of video game play on night time dreams for a decade. We have found that there are various well-being outcomes evidenced in the dreams of gamers. We are doing this because of the important for dreaming. Research has shown that dreaming is important for things such as memory consolidation, emotional regulation, fear-extinction and coping, and acting as a simulation for various threats and traumas dating back to when we were much more wild! The sense of presence that video games invoke in us is dream-like and often affects the dreams we have, and the fact that VR allows for even more presence in video games than before makes us curious about the potential effects and uses this technology could present for the benefit of mankind aside from just entertainment (which is certainly awesome too, make no mistake =P). We are postings to this forum hoping to find people who are working with the Rift w
I intend for this to be a serious discussion. Why is our community (Mostly on Reddit) so hateful towards Let's Players? A few friends, and myself, have posted videos before in the OVR subreddit at times, and were met with tons of negative attitude. I could understand if the content was having an adverse effect on the public opinion of VR, but it has been nothing but knowledgeable and genuine. If they don't like these Let's Play OVR videos so much, why not simply ban them in the rules? Honestly, I'm pretty upset over the whole thing, and the elitist attitude with which we are met is at times quite disgusting.

Alrighty then.. give me a moment to put on my tin foil hat from REI..Ok, there we go. Now the NSA cannot hack into my brain, so I can post in safety now. It looks like the Air Force will be, once again, testing the X-37B spacecraft, and some unclassified features are:- Xeon ionized thrusters (NASA's Ion drive which came out of testing awhile ago)- Deep space testing of various materialsWith the theoretical speed limit of using a Xeon based ion propulsion system of 1/3 the speed of light (if the ship doesn't weigh anything.. oh, wait, we're in space).. could they be flying a classified mission to the AF Moon Base, or even perhaps Mars? Did Curiosity find something, well, curious? Of course, since manned missions to Mars are currently slated for the next presidency, navigation and communication are very necessary for our species to be able to live off planet, so it could be that this mission, if its planned to go to Mars, could be laying the groundwork for a GPS satellite system around M
Dear Oculus Community,I am Ali Gajani, a new Oculus DK2 fan and a new member of your forum.Pardon me if I am posting in the wrong place, but I love Oculus DK2, though I have some issues.Applications like Motorbike work fine, but some apps like BloodDK2 show dual screen in each eye.My question is, what is the solution to such a problem, when the screen is appearing separately in each eye.Of course, since this doesn't give the 3D experience, something must be done about it.My settings are: Oculus DK2 is rotated to 90 degrees 75 Refresh Rate and set as secondary screen.
