I know vorpx doesnt support it but do any other programs support it? Seems like something that would be perfect for dk2 you could lean in and everything your sims are doing- if you have full walls up you could look around to get a better view- make you even feel more like an all powerful controller xD- bunch of other stuffany thoughts?
Hi guys, just got my dk2 but having some setup issues, im new to the rift anyhow thats for another forum, was wondering if anybody in or around my area also having one that i can chat too or get some advice help from, maybe bring it over and see if its me or the hardware.thanks again Adam
I just bought one the moment I saw it, I think its beautiful, the postage is a bit high but boy what an excellence piece to put your rift on at home studio work..If any one wanted to become a millionare, all you need to do is be able to produce some thing like this but interesting ones or faces like gamer faces or some thing and people are going to need this in all the homes around the world... isn't it, some thing like a cosplay rift holder.any way here it is:Also whilst im posting, why hasn't any 3rd partys woken up to the fact that people want to buy fresh or new Lens for their Dk2, the shipped with lens are ok but stratch if you brush it with a feather. Why is there not any "custom", high quality lens available?I would be prepared to pay between £25 and £75 for new lens if there was some thing that justified them being worth that much, like their availability for one. Also talking about scratches, the front of the rift scratches as I always seem to leave it face down and if it hits o
I received Oculus yesterday and downloaded all necessary software for Mac OSX (Mavericks). I am able to efficiently run the demo on runtime, but am having issues running any other application. Ive checked and re-checked all cables and components and all checks out. Due to the "computer desk" demo on runtime working, I can only surmise that it is the applications that are not up to snuff for the downloaded software as well as the computer. All software is the latest available. I have restarted my computer and rebooted numerous times as well. I apologize if this has been talked about before but couldn't find anyone else on here with the same scenario. Many thanks! Here's the computer I am using:Mid-2012 Macbook Pro, I5 processor, 8 gb RAM (non-retina screen)Brad H.
Hello!I hope that's the right place for this thread and there is no other one that has the same topic. At least I didn't find anything yet :PThere are several Video-Players for the DK2.Some are free, others do cost money.WhirligigVR PlayercineveoMaxVR...But how can I find the best one for me? Some of them are not free and do not have a free demo.
Can someone tell me if the older Driving Force steering wheel has a 60 slot optical encoder like in the G25?Thanks
Hello guys! I have alienware x51 and a Dell Monitor that has a vga and dvi port. I was using a dvi to hdmi cable with no problem but x51 has only 1 hdmi and I am planning to use the only hdmi port for my oculus rift dk2 so I bought and tried different cable for the dvi port such as (DVI cable) but its not detecting the monitor and it says no vga detected. can anyone help or give me info what to do?
I'm just curious - are there any other devs in Anchorage or the valley waiting for a DK2? I'd love to connect.
As a tech nerd, I've been super excited about VR and the possibilities it has to offer, and Oculus is still king of the hill at this point. Sadly however, I haven't been fortunate enough to buy or use the Rift in either DK1 and DK2 versions. With Google's Cardboard, it seemingly has offered the world a VR experience on the cheapest. I was excited enough for it that I bought a kit from Amazon for just about $15.After using it, I'm loving it, but there is one thing that's bugging me. The whole experience feels more looking in a screen with a pair of binoculars, rather than fully taking over your vision and immersing you into the VR world. I can still see some edges of the lenses and cardboard. I'm surprised no one tried to explain it like this before, as everyone just screams "WOW" and making me think that it takes your whole eyesight! Don't get me wrong, the experience is still way better than just looking at a normal screen and the sense of depth is awesome, but it feels more like looki

Wow, i just played Elite Dangerous with Voice Attack.. This is xxxx great!!! Also for other Rift demos or games. You can bind all Keyboard commands to your voice.. No more searching for the keys while you have your rift on :)Here the settings for elite:http://www.elitedangerous.de/dokumente/VoiceControllingEliteDangerous.pdfVoiceAttack:http://www.voiceattack.com/VoceAttack Elite Profile Download:https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85188563/Elite%20Dangerous-Profile.vap

At Saturday night some friends come over and bring there own wifi Oculus rift glasses, we connect them trough a wireless usb 3 hub and crash in the couch. My computer loads multiple virtual machines where every graphics accapter is connected to its own wifi rift glasses. (hyper-v remotefx? win2k12 server?) we grab our wifi controllers and go play a horror game. .. much work to do  Any body has more great toughts for an end goal ?
This question may have popped up already, and if so, apologies if someone has already answered it. But..When using Steam VR mode, launching games in 2D simply blanks the Rift in the standard 2D view. What I'm wondering is if there is a way, a mod perhaps, that can launch games directly onto that lovely cinema-like Steam VR screen?Maybe there's even a mode for that and I've not yet found it, But if anyone has any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated. What do you think?
So I have been eye'ing getting Elite: Dangerous, and decided to go a bit overboard with it, like I am known for :( And I wonder why I am constantly broke and eating Ramen. /sigh.So, on Friday, along with Elite: Dangerous, I am planning on getting:- 2x Case fans (for my HDD's, as they're getting a bit hot I've noticed)- 10 port powered USB hub- Saitek PZ35 Pro Rudder Flight Pedals- Saitek X-55 Rhino Pro Flight Stick (mid range HOTAS? )- My bicycle from the bike shop, getting a set of Jones H-Loop bars. Yarr! And yea, along with my student loans, well.. hi2u ramen for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Unless I catch a rabbit, then, well, there is that.Welp, let's see, pay-day after next, going to hit up a Rift (all of the real dev's should have them bought, so now it's time for enthusiasts / wanna-be devs such as myself). And that's it for the next check. This will allow me to save up for the next big purchase:Flight Sim Chair. I was looking at the Obutto R3volution Gaming Cockpit with some
Found a nice VFX1 review on youtube :D
Between sleeping and getting out of bed I thought through a little design for tactile haptic gloves. I thought the idea was cool and just spent the last hour trying to articulate my thoughts on virtual paper. So here it is! What do you think? Anyone else ever draw their own? :DIf image seems cut off Image Link: http://imgur.com/hnotQDN
I must say I am thrilled to be up and running. It was not easy (being on a mac might have been the cause) nonetheless I am running and I was able to do a quick OVR build. I do have a question and I was hoping it would be in the Best Practice Guide, but it is not. Is it best to go with 4k vs 2k textures for VR content? WOuld 8k break it? The things that still blows my mind is when you peak over and can the see the underside of an object. That said - playes or explorers will get up close to surfaces. Low res ruins it for me personally. Would like to know if any has used anything over 4K textures. Thanks
I just installed the new SDK for my Macbook Pro. Not a fancy machine, not top of the line, but a decent machine for game development. Let me back up a bit. I tried running the Tuscany VR demo on my daughters PC. A good HP computer with quadcore and 8 gigs of ram. Decent graphics card for what a 450+ computer would give you. I noticed a lot of judder when testing the Tuscany Demo. Still a pleasant experience. I enjoyed the heck out of it   Last night I finally figured out how to run one of the Tuscany demos on my mac. I had to drag the darn game window to the oculus screen to see it(fixed on extended display). But when I did that I notcied NO judder, NO latency, the fracking thing just worked beautifully :o :o :o . I mean gosh darn it i felt like i was really there until I stood up that is. Felt like tipping over from moving around. That's just it... my brain was fooled and that's what it's all about for me.. I loved it so much. So kudos for getting it right Oculus team..K
Hey all,Im wondering if anyone knows more about Overclocking than I do. It can't be hard!!:) Ive always built my own PC's. whenever I overclocked I would normally take the easy route and use for example, Asus AutoTune etc. I have never really spent the time to look into it further. I know I can get better clocks, and better voltages doing it manually.Well, I overclocked my new gaming rig yesterday, manually, and I was wondering if you think I could push it further, have a good chip? etc etc. My setup is a Rog Maximus Vii Ranger, an i5 Haswell 4760K cooled with a NZXT Kraken X40 watercooler, MSI Twin Frozr 780ti, Avexir Blitz 2311C9 Memory SSD's etc.I have it running at 4.4Ghz atm, with a max temp on full load of 67Dec C stable with a voltage of 1.93V. I edged the voltage up until Prime ran stable. (room was quite warm) Temps never go above 56DegC gaming. As said above, question is, would it be worth pushing it to 4.5Ghz, or 4.6Ghz? Is it worth it? Would I notice any difference in gaming
Hoping to get my Oculus faster. Anyone have recommendations on where to live? I heard Germany and UK are fairly friendly to Americans despite the history. Also, do either country recognize American certifications, like Six Sigma and PMP? Would be helpful for job prospects. Thanks!
Hello.I've seen Sixense developers in this forum. I would like to ask if you plan on getting a Tuscany VR version for DK2.That was the first demo I tried, and daaaamn it totally blew my mind. (I had only used Vuzix HMDs previously) It convinced me to buy DK1, and now DK2, and although after a few minutes with that demo I became dizzy, I would love to try it again in DK2 and I think most people would like it too.I checked the website http://sixense.com/sixensetuscanydemo and there is no mention of DK2.Edit: Oops apparently I posted this on Oculus Lounge instead of "Oculus ready games and demos".Ha, sorry about that. The question still stands though.
No restaurants in my area that require coat and tie... wtf?Its Palmer's fault imo.
