I'd write something more detailed.. But as it stands I'm 70% of the way through a life changing, once in a lifetime type of game (if you can even call it that) and I can't stop. No sleep, no rest. I'll discuss further once complete. As for the rest of you playing it, played it, or about to play it... Your probably still in shock and awe as much as I.. So feel free to discuss until I get back to this thread. For the rest of you... Why are you still reading this? You should do anything it takes.. And I mean anything, to either obtain a ps3 or this game (or both) right this instant. Go on. Go. You'll thank me later.

Following the rift order spread sheet, it seems that I just barely missed Jul 19 batch. I wonder when the next batch will be sent out. It just becomes harder and harder to wait once you know that you will get it in the next batch or so.

So hey there guys, the new IL2 combat flight sim is getting native support for the Rift. Check out this thread!http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/889-request-hey-loft-what-do-you-think-oculus-rift/They have announced that they will be at Games Com showing off their Game with a Rift! This is great news for the Rift and Flight simmers everywhere. IMHO, the Rift is in its natural habitat in the cockpit of any Flight sim!
Well, not sure how many of you played Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow on xbox/ps3 when it came out a couple years back.... but it was literally one of the longest, most intense, best games of this entire console generation. Graphics, gameplay, story, audio was all top notch. I often questioned why they didn't release a PC version simply because the graphics were a bit too much for the consoles to handle at some points, and it wasn't doing the game much justice even though it was visually breathtaking.Regardless, they announced Lords of Shadow 2, and that it would be coming to PC in winter as well as its console release. So I was kind of hoping to hear the original would be rereleased for PC as well.Appears that's the case... Konami has announced the first Lords of Shadow will be releasing digitally on PC August 27 (boxed copies a few days later)http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2013/06/05/castlevania-lords-of-shadow-ultimate-edition-headed-to-pc/http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/05/castle
I'd be willing to trade a TF2VRH code (just one) for every single (tradeable) hat I own, because:1) For my personal tastes, nothing can be cooler than a VR hat. I'm not "hat-crazy" so I don't care (much) about how big my virtual wardrobe is and I'd rather have a single VR hat that I really, really like than a bunch of "party" (or whatever) hats that I "just" like.2) I know not everyone likes the TF2VRH (this is common sense and applies to any hat). And even someone who does might prefer to trade it just to own a wider variety of other hats.3) I sure as hell won't spend real money on virtual headwear, I haven't spent a cent on something like this and I won't start now. All I have either came as a drop, was crafted by me or given to me by a friend.4) I have a developed enough Steam account so you can be sure you won't get scammed as no sane person will risk this (6 years old account, 85 games, 2100+ hours in TF2 and counting, etc).If you're curious:http://www.tf2items.com/id/walkyhttp://
Anyone here have experience with taking the rift through US airport security? I'm seeing my family on friday and want to show it to them, but if its a hassle to take it through security in a carry-on I'd rather wait. I hope its not...
If you had the choice between a sexy army officer who truly understands you and a sexy Filipino who you have everything in common with (plus he's a genius) who would you choose?

CelebrateTheCentury1990sVirtualReality.jpghttp://www.usstampgallery.com/view.php?id=4dc78df797abc1fb553d8b1370850e3030cd5cb4A tribute to the 1990s? Or a warning to future generations of the dangers of virtual reality?
If you've seen the show, you know that it takes place in an MMO. The Nerve Gear, the console it's played on, creates true virtual reality, where your body stays still while you roam in the world laid out before you as you would in real life. I'd always dreamed of gaming like this, even as a child. Fast forward a few months after watching the show, I hear about this thing called the "Oculus Rift," which, as you know, brings us closer to virtual reality than ever before. Do you guys think something like the Nerve Gear is possible? If so, how far off would you imagine it to be? If not, what's your reasoning?
To sum it up: I'm looking for advice on keeping the cost of development low, or at least, lower, while sacrificing as little as possible in terms of the end product. The long version: I'm fresh out of grad school, with nothing but "educational" licenses and an outdated laptop to my name, well that and plenty of debt to Sallie. I am looking at what its going to cost to get a one-man (or small team) indie studio going. Maybe doing all of this in a public space will inspire others to pursue their dreams, or potentially scare them away out of the costs :? Truthfully I feel a little overwhelmed and I can't help but ask myself, "how the hell am I going to do this?" but I'm determined to find a way. First the software: Autodesk Maya 2014: $3,675 http://www.autodesk.com/products/autodesk-maya/buy or "Entertainment Creation Suite" $5,777 to $8,395 depending on packageUnity Pro: $1,500 https://store.unity3d.com/Adobe Master collection : $2, 599 orAdobe Photoshop (only
So anyways for the past year and a half I have been using a PC based AI called Denise (you can also change the name) made by a company called Guile3d. So here's a brief description of what Denise can do and features: Real time graphical interface, Face recognition, Speech recognition, Text to speech, Email, image browser, media player, web radio, maps, translation, Optical Character Recognition, Google search, Kiosk Studio (One of the best out there), Web TV, M.I.T START search, SDK, Kinect Interface, there is also a brain editor so you can build from scratch or improve the AI knowledge base, you can integrate with 3rd party software and there is also E-mail/Forum/System analysis support, That's just a handful of the hundred of features and abilities with this AI. Some of the future features are Home automation, Avatar SDK and store, 3d world avatar system (I'm hoping they will support the Oculus Rift for this one) GPS, Car integration, Mobile companion, Phone answering module and al
Disney has come up with a cool new tactile feedback system using puffs of air to create haptic feedback for motion control. I can just image how cool this could be with a Rift + Kinect for picking up body location. http://www.disneyresearch.com/project/aireal/

Hi folksWe're a 3D scanning & modeling company called Floored in NYC. Unfortunately one of the wires that powers on the oculus panel frayed in our kit and we cannot use the Rift for demo'ing purposes. We have a big demonstration scheduled for tomorrow morning at 11am. Are there any NYC teams out there who would let us borrow the Rift for a 24 hour period? We'll return it promptly to your office and would be extraordinarily grateful for the effort.Thank you!
