In this regard, perhaps VR will give us some fun while we sit back and watch the show! ;) But if we don't protect our borders, how easy will it be for a foreign invader to walk up behind us in smash our skulls in while we play VR flower? (heck maybe that is not such a bad way to go - LOL!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t976q6CeN8Q roy beck by the numbers.

Im thinkng to write a sci fi book on how governments and nations in order to save a planet/ resources/ enviroment will fight with each other in virtual enviroments. . . While vr life losses translated in euthanization in real life by draft. . .

Yah that would be cool book. There was an old episode of the original star trek series where that is what they did, the computers played wargames back and forth and as members were killed in the game, they would kill them in real life in a peaceful less infrastructure damaging scenario (and see this is important, because the infrastructure, the cities, etc had become more important than the humans) So spock and kirk show up and save the day and tell them that they have made war so civilized and death so peaceful (and human life so cheap next to infrastructure) that they were dead as a society, that the destruction of everything, that would make it where the price of war was too high. It would be terrible to fight a war, but if you let human life start becoming cheap next to infrastructure, resources, than we are all in peril.

And if you think in real economic terms, that is true today to people like Larry Summers http://www.whirledbank.org/ourwords/summers.html

When my grandpa had his 400 acre farm, he would tell me if you get too many chickens in the henhouse, its unhealthy and you need a culling.

This is all pure BS. First of all, people of western civilization give birth less and less. By the time the whole world becomes advanced, the world's population will have a steady decline.

Second of all, people in undeveloped countries use much less resources and they seem to pretty much survive despite if we consider their life shitty.

Thirdly, capitalism can and will finally be replaced by something sustainable when the technology allows, but our non renewable resources will last for much much longer than we think (Shale gas).

I don't believe such a misinformed and provocative article was written by nasa. Such a shame :?

haha..... luckily we have enough thorium and nuclear waste as fuel for billions of years and can recycle metals infinitely.
Not that 40% efficient solar panels that we'll put onto our roofs and space based solar brayton cycle energy conversion would be already enough.
The only thing that could doom us is ourselves or the fucking nuclear bombs.

Did you say nuclear bombs? Choices humanity must make? Please let me borrow 8 minutes of your existence to watch this:

Here was a video talking about this HUGE library of software that is already out there on the planet, all the genetic code, dna, plants animals etc Tons of software, and we are destroying it. Going to choose a dark dystopian future where there is not much variety in software, and lose all the variety we have in the software that is already out there. Maybe adam and eve garden of eden memes. Who wants a world where everything is the same, no variety like we have in nature now? That is one dark future we may head down. (this is another sternwise)

Obviously folks can't do anything against a few crazy atomic bomb pilots unless they are getting conscious, storm their own military defense and destroy the weapons. (you may say i am a dreamer)
You need only a few people to mess up the whole world.
In terms of infantry/classic war people have a choice. Keep the peace or try being stupid and follow false reasons(fascists marching in or whoelse) to invade a country. Any soldier that tries to force you to fight should be fought. This is the enemy, an obeying, naive soldier.
