Question

looking for the best 3d tv need help

hi as the topic says im looking for a really awesome 3d tv preferably lower then 1500 aud, ive done my research for years and bought 2 tvs for about 1000 aud each which was a waste of money because they turned out to be fucking china models not genuine. and i only want the tv with the best pop out 3d not fucking depth i fucking hate depth. iv read that lgs cinema 3d is the best  and also do all lg cinema 3d tvs have the same quality 3d or are some better then others?

You lost me... surely 3D IS about depth as much as popping out, and its all down to the source not the tv for that?

so unfortunately 3DTV is a dead duck. i say that with sadness as i like 3D TV, esp for gaming and have a 70inch sharp 1080P 3D TV - very old hat now, i would not recommend it despite being v high end in 2013....

with 4K sets i thought 3D would finally take off.  in theory passive 3DTV is better than active, cheaper glasses, no batteries, and no flicker, but, with 1080p sets passive 3D basically halves the resolution.
for a 1080P TV therefore i would say, despite the problems, active 3D is probably the way to go.

for a 4K set you want a passive one as its still a nice high resolution even halved. cant comment on brands tho.....

I have an LG OLED 55" TV that has stunning 3d.
If you can stretch a little more money wise then they are a great investment.

yes i gues it can have depth too but it must have pop out as well, and a good 3d tv can make any video awesome in 3d, my old panasonic plasma 3d tv from 2012 was amazing at this, i just downloaded a sbs video and the 3d blew my mind which had awesome pop out effects. and it was a beast in avatar blu ray 3d u felt like u could touch the flowers. i want a 3d tv as good as this

I have a 55" 4K Sony Android TV, 2D picture is superb and Android gives you masses of features.

3D is active shutter and it's ok but you have to block out peripheral bright lights as that's where the flicker is most noticeable... especially windows. I watched some 3D at the start, out of curiosity, but haven't watched any since.

The lack of content is another thing, broadcasters have stopped transmitting 3D content for the most part so Blurays or downloads are pretty much the only option. Added to that, everyone in the room has to wear the glasses and I can understand why 3D was a bit of a fad!

I have an LG 55inch UHD passive 3D TV and I think its the best its going to get as they don't make it anymore and newer models don't have 3D.

I have an LG passive 3D tv and is awesome.  However, 3D content is pathetic and only getting worse.  I tried using it for video gaming as it Upscales 2D->3D on my PS4 but it was underwhelming.  If you're still bent on getting one definately give passive a try over active shutter.  It's much more comfortable.

Pop-out or depth has nothing to do with the display and everything to do with the content your are viewing. I still think 3D is cool, but the market is moving away from it. Most new model TVs have dropped 3D support, UHD Blu-Ray has no 3D in the spec at all, and HDMI never made 1080P60 3D mandatory in the spec so basically there is nothing that can do higher than 720P for games (except for Nvidia proprietary monitors) which is sort of a bad joke now that 4K is popular. Hopefully 3D can stick around, I mean, they do still make 3D movies and Blu-Rays, but it seems like the big hype train has left the station.

i dont think so cause the old tv i had made every movie have depth only not pop out maybe that was because it was a china model not a genuine one i dont know
