Question

PC specs, Oculus requirements...

It would be great if users could share their PC system specs and general performance with the Rift. Ideally, I would like to sample enough users to come up with a "minimum requirements" & "recommended requirements" baseline for best performance on a PC. Please post reply with a short message indicating:

1. Processor type & speed
2. Video Card make & model
3. Amount of RAM
4. Anything else relevant to Rift performance
5. Your impression of the performance of the Rift, on your system

Thanks in advance!

I use a 4.5 year old laptop with an old NVidia card. Works for most demos without problems. I use a screen resolution of 1200 x 800 as recommended.

From all of the reviews and reports that I have read, a GTX 780 TI > Titan, and what, 200? 300? dollars less.
Current WIPs using Unreal Engine 4: Agrona - Tales of an Era : Medieval Fantasy MORPG

For gaming its definetly better and cheaper.

    Intel Core i7-3930K (stock speed)
    32GB DDR3
    2 x Geforce GTX 780

Performance is great. I don't use SLI on rift demos.

I've been reading a few reviews of the Geforce 800m series, and from the GTX 860m and up, I'd say laptops are well enough equipped for VR. (Of course the desktop versions will be better, but if you need/want a laptop for this, it's totally possible.)

What is the required monitor resolution for the DV2? I have a Dell monitor, but is only capable of 1680x1050.

    i5-3570K
    AMD 7970

I am hoping i will be able to run the rift on this setup.

    For the DK2, how will a 3570K @ 4.2Ghz, 8gigs ddr3 1600Mhz CLS9, WD Black HDD secondary drive (for games), and 2 GTX 660SC 2GB cards handle current demos?

I'm also about to begin work on a demo and would like opinions on this: With oculus rift, do you visually feel you're in the game, or does it feel more like a 3D monitor with depth perception?

Hoping my aging machine will be able to cope well when my DK2 arrives. Core 2 Duo @ 3ghz, 6gb RAM and a 9800gt 1gb. Not great I know, but I'm planning to develop pretty simple VR games to target lower end PCs (how convenient!).

I recently tried the DK1 on a laptop with an i7 @ 2.4ghz and a Geforce GTX 780m and it handled all the demos I could find pretty flawlessly.

With intel hd 4000 even the simplest demos will be slide shows, it's very underpowered.
(I've used a hd4400 with the rift, horrible performance)

    Have a look here: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Intel+HD+4000
The hd4000 gets a benchmark score of 454. The GTX970 (which Oculus recommend) gets 8637.
