Question

Poll: Will Facebook and Oculus prevail against ZeniMax?

First off, I know several threads about this topic exist. This is not an
attempt to restart the debate. Since the verdict should be coming in
the next few hours (the jury deliberates today), I am curious to see how
this community believes the Jury will vote.

Synopsis: ZeniMax has 9 lawsuits, 5 of which are against Facebook and the rest against Oculus. Details in a discussion thread here:
https://forums.oculus.com/community/discussion/comment/488527/#Comment_488527

So with that in mind, what will the Jury decide??

There are some unknowns even from these findings:

    - Actual JC damage settlement (unknown)
    - Awarding of legal fees
    - Appeal reversal of amounts (unknown)
    - Additional charges based jury finding

And these are just the basic list IMHO. I am sure the legal team will find a lot more.

And, of course, there are the two elephants in the room - the danger of ZeinMax trying to stop CV1 sales during the process - and FB counter suing ZeinMax for  taking their name/brand into disrepute.

Not sure how much ground they have to say CV1 should stop all sells, but FB will be suing Zen I'm sure for other damages.

I think for most of us the interest now goes, Oculus were found innocent of what many owners would consider a crime that is the stealing of tech.

As for NDA i watch videos and articles that are breaking some kind of NDA personally this has little meaning for me

If zenimax allow their games on oculus in the future i will consider that the biggest win, after all is this what we really care for?

Remember that this is a civil case, not a criminal case. Nobody is being found 'guilty' only liable.

Same here. There are multiple paths to a cash grab in the court system. I was only interested in the liability that came from the actions of Zuckerberg and Carmack. I am completely content with the outcome.

$500,000,000 dollars? I believe Facebook gets that in one quarter just from the Sponsor Ads on their App.

But being found liable in a Civil (jury) case can have impacts on your ability to be an officer of the court or hold certain positions with some companies (dependent on State/Country).

Unless it's POTUS, then you're ok.
