Question

Question about Oculus and their thoughts on Equipment lead length.

To me, it seems like they made this so you are sitting at a chair in front of your computer only.
If you look at games like Arizona Sunshine.. you need a lot of space.

Is it not that hard to ask that oculus make the sensors with the Max length of 5m.. ??
Is it not that hard to get an option for an extra 5m extension cord to suit the headset.. that is one make specifically for it... nice and neat.

Why do manufacturers also just offer the bare minimum?????

Honestly 3mtrs extra on your sensor lead would not cost much to mass produce, even if it was an extension.

Everyone.. Please make your thoughts heard

They could have a retractable kinda thing in the stand at the bottom. That might work.
Even if they had the extension put in there. Instead of having to go buy another one.

Like I said.. these goons need more options.
Why do people always write essays for a reply. My God.

Goons?  Good grief, just go buy a repeater and cables, or move your computer so it doesn't have to go "outside".  Or better yet, sell your rift, that is if your ebay account wasn't suspended for selling your defective old one that wasn't under warranty because you couldn't get the original seller to respond.

There are several threads about cable lengths extensions. This is another one of those froggy threads that never really go anywhere.

I don't think I'm the one trolling. Are you not reading other peoples responses to you in this thread?

Anyway, there is a huge thread about extension cables:
    https://forums.oculus.com/community/discussion/30513/yes-extension-cables-do-work-w-cv1/p1

Also, your first post states that Oculus should provide an extension cable by "default" because games that are not default, and weren't even released at the time the CV1 was released, could probably use longer cables. Arizona Sunshine is not a free game nor a default purchase. So it makes no sense for Oculus to either waste money or charge users more for something that they might never use.

I have a library of games and I have yet to require an extension cable. But if you really wanted to extend your gear, then a simple forum search would have solved your problem.

Here is what another poster said in this thread:
"I clearly gave you options for working with the small cable length, and
I believe I did ok at justifying why the cable length is the way it is.
If you need more cable length, go buy extension cables."

    And this was your response:
"Why do people always write essays for a reply. My God."

You should be grateful that someone took the time to explain to you something that has already been addressed multiple times.
