Question

Battery Life constantly dying.

So I use a Meta Quest 3 with an external battery, and it is constantly dying extremely fast. Like from today, when I just got on when it was on 35% until it went to 15% then shut off dead.

It is a BoboVR External Battery with the strap. And with that, when the external battery dies, my headset goes to 15%. And as you know, death.

Thank you for reaching out regarding the external battery you’re using.

Constant use and specific charging patterns can contribute to the normal, gradual degradation of any lithium-ion battery over time. The perception that the internal battery drains more quickly after the external battery is depleted is likely due to a combination of normal battery wear and how the headset’s power management system operates.

To maximize the battery life of your Meta Quest headset, we recommend checking out this support guide for additional tips.

Here are a few quick steps you can try right away:

      • Enable Battery Saver mode: Go to Settings > Device > Power and activate it. This lowers refresh rate and brightness to conserve power.
      • Reduce brightness: Use the quick settings panel to lower display brightness.
      • Minimize background activity: Close any unused apps or browser tabs running in the background.

We hope these steps help improve your battery performance. If you need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us via private message.
