Question

Black Screen

So when you get a black screen and no software update works and out of warranty. That’s it! The headset is garbage?  I think there should be some type of fix!!!  These units are expensive. Crazy how tech support is no help.

The first thing to do is fully charge the headset, then perform a factory reset, tell me what the current situation shows, and then I will tell you the next steps.। JoeLocks

It's like any other product that breaks out of warranty I suppose but there are things you can try. Firstly ignore the other answer you got. That Sheikh  guy told someone with an overheating headset to put it in the refrigerator! He's dangerous! He doesn't know his a** from his elbow as we used to say in Ireland.

Here is a link, below, to talk to an actual human at Meta who might be able to talk you through a fix. It might be a software issue.

If that doesn't work and you are in the US you can try Fix My Oculus who has a great reputation and would be far cheaper than getting a new Quest.  If you're not in the US, you can Google for headset repair services in your country.

Good luck and I hope you get it fixed! 🍀🤞

    Hi JoeLocks 🙂

If your black screen is caused by sweat/moisture that found its way into the headset, you can try if a hairdryer - like shown in the video - can fix it. Be careful.... don't use heat.

If this doesn't work, follow SheikhShuvojabid suggestion and do a factory reset.... if you haven't already done that.

If that also doesn't work, follow Maccyb123 suggestion and look for a vr headset repair service.
