Question

Child Age Verification Loop

For the past 6 weeks, I've been working with Meta Support to transition my 12-year-old son's existing Meta account to a supervised child account. We are now 52 emails into this support case, and there is still no solution.

My son's account is stuck in an endless verification loop:

  1. He signs into his existing Meta account.
  2. He confirms he is between 10 and 12 years old.
  3. He confirms that I am his parent.
  4. It immediately sends him back to the age question.
  5. The process repeats indefinitely.

Meanwhile, I can only see options in Family Center to create a new child account or invite a teen. There is no option to transition or link my son's existing account.

At Meta Support's request, we have repeatedly:

  1. Cleared browser cache and cookies.
  2. Tried multiple browsers.
  3. Used multiple devices.
  4. Tried different networks.
  5. Used Incognito/private browsing (where possible).
  6. Submitted the requested verification documents multiple times.
  7. Sent countless screen recordings showing every step and demonstrating that the loop continues.

Despite all of this, the issue remains unresolved.

To make matters worse, my son continues receiving emails warning that his account will be deleted on July 25, along with all of his purchased games, saved progress, and account dataβ€”even though the reason we cannot complete the verification is because of this unresolved loop.

At this point, I'm looking for:

  • Has anyone else experienced this exact verification loop?
  • Was your existing child's account ever successfully transitioned?
  • Is there a Meta employee or moderator who can escalate this to the appropriate team?

My family has done everything Meta has asked us to do for the past month and a half, and we're now facing the possibility of losing years of purchases and saved data because this issue has not been resolved.

Have heard similar problems many times . It is extremely frustrating I am sure. This loop is not unusual unfortunately. As you have done everything, you seem to have hit a wall here. Unfortunately as a user only forum we cannot really give any specific help. All we can offer is other ways to talk to a human Meta Support person.. On the link below, there are a few options. If there is one you haven't utilized yet, give it a try and good luck. πŸ€žπŸ€ Maybe you will get more advice from others here too.
