It is extremely unfortunate Stephensx6 Meta should make it clear in big capital letters that you need the serial number on the box. I was lucky that my wife decided to keep the box after I put it out for recycling. Now I have it. Just snipped it off the box and keep it in my Quest case. I think many people are finding themselves in the same situation. As well as the box, the serial number of the full set should be printed on documentation people normally hold onto, like a warranty card.

Locating the Serial Number for Meta Quest 3 Without the Box

If you no longer have the original packaging for your Meta Quest 3, there are still several ways to find the serial number.

Check the Headset

• Inside the Headset Strap: The serial number is printed on a label located inside the left side strap of the headset. To find it, gently hold the left arm of the headset and tilt it upward to view the label.

Inspect the Controllers

• Controller Serial Numbers: Each controller has its own serial number. To find it, remove the battery cover of the controller. The serial number label is located just below the battery compartment.

Use the Meta Horizon App

• Mobile App Access: Open the Meta Horizon app on your smartphone. Tap your avatar icon, select the “Menu” icon, go to “Devices,” and choose your headset. The serial number will be displayed in the headset information.

Online Account

• Meta Website: Log into your account on the official Meta website. Navigate to the “My Devices” section, select your Meta Quest 3, and you will find the serial number listed there.

These methods will help you retrieve the serial number even if the original box is no longer available.
