Hand tracking with boxing gloves

Hi,
I do a lot of sports with my Quest 3 and now I tried to use normal boxing gloves in an app with hand tracking. Didn't work so far as the "hands" are not recongnized by the quest. Now I was wondering is it because the fingers are missing or because of the black color of the gloves. Would be great to use the gloves because of the weight.

Thanks for your opinions.

I would expect it's because your hands do not look like hands to the pattern recognition algorithms. Sadly, I doubt Meta will put any resources towards a niche case like this.

     user_901925786032222  is correct.

Hand tracking/hand gestures work perfectly with regular black gloves, so it has nothing to do with the color.

Imagine the outcry if only white hands could be tracked!

OK - so I need these gloves where whose you can use with the controllers... not really nice, but ok.

    Thank you guys

What about holding some weights in your fists.... such as some people use for shadow boxing.

You don't need controllers then and had some weight to your hands.

Hand tracking relies on seeing your fingers, so boxing gloves block that recognition. It’s less about the color and more that your fingers aren’t visible, which makes it hard for the Quest to track them.
