Solved

Just updated from v78.1027 to v78.1030 but my version number is still showing v78.1027.

I had updated my headset a couple of days ago from v78.1027 to v78.1028 (the 105Mb update) but it still showed my software as being v78.1027, but "up to date". Today I found that my Quest 3 had a new software update available for v78.1030 (also 105Mb). I updated and restarted the headset. It again says it is "up to date" but my software version number is still showing as v78.1027 "updated on 8th July 2025"! I've submitted a bug report via the quick settings menu.

I'm having the exact same issue.
My headset is also stuck on v78.1027, and I've tried every update up to v78.1031 (150MB). However, after the failed update to v78.1030, something internal seems to have been updated, and now I'm constantly getting the pop-up "Meta Horizon Shell is not responding."

Meta Support is stating that we should all wait for v79, which should resolve the problem of v78.1027 through v78.1031 not installing correctly.

My Quest 2 updated to 1032 now I get kicked out of games or I'll just run wild with no control. Still haven't gotten updates from ver 74 last February. No Navigator but says I'm ver 78.  This is getting old fast. Anyone else get 1032? I see ver 79 is out since last month but I haven't gotten it.

I apologize for sharing Quest 3 information instead of Quest 2, but I wanted to share my status.
My device hasn't received the v78.1032 or v79 update since v78.1031 (the version displayed on the screen is v78.1027). The Navigator and Meta AI features are also not working for me.

I've got update 79.1031. I've downloaded and it and - IT FLASHED :o after the reboot I checked the version it said version 79.0 and it says again that I can update to version 79.1031 (same build number again like my installed version) after I clicked install (no flashing here after the reboot btw) it said still version 79.0 no other updates available. I also still didn't have the Navigator till now. But finally the switch between controller and hand control is smooth and instant again.

Someone posted in another thread that they have 79.1031 but they are still stuck in the "v79.1031 update is available" loop!!!

It's such a damning indictment of Meta that they can't manage it, I could laugh myself to death about this company.
