Question

Left controller not turning off

Having a wierd issue, my left controller will not track, and is stuck with the white light indicating it is still on despite my headset being off and the right controller also is turned off. I cannot reset the controller as the menu button just doesn't work at all. Is there anything i can actually do to fix this issue as it is rather frustraiting.

Hey there,

We saw your post and wanted to lend a hand.

It's never ideal when a controller refuses to track properly and that's not the way we intended our customers to experience the Metaverse, so we want to provide the support you need and deserve! We'll leave troubleshooting steps below:

Troubleshoot Option 1

  • Make sure the play area is suitable and free of anything that may interfere with tracking

Troubleshoot Option 2

  • Check the area is well lit, with enough light to see clearly, but no direct sunlight
  • Check the area is free of small lights such as Christmas lights, or LED strips
  • Check the area is free of reflective surfaces such as mirrors, glass, or polished marble

Troubleshoot Option 3

  • Make sure there are no obstructions between the tracking cameras and the controllers

Troubleshoot Option 4

  • Make sure the tracking cameras are clean. If they need to be cleaned, follow the maintenance and care guidelines
  • Remove unsupported third-party accessories that may affect tracking or controller detection. For example: controller and headset covers, controller attachments, etc.

Troubleshoot Option 5

  • Check the batteries (Not applicable for Meta Quest Pro)
  • Remove the battery from the controller for 30 seconds
  • Try replacing the battery with a new one
