Question

Major problem.

Yesterday, I turned my headset off completely like normal, nothing different. I go today to connect a new controller I had gotten the day before, the same day I turned my headset off last. So I go to the meta app as one does to connect a new controller, and it says that my headset is not connected to the app like it normally is. So, I try restarting my headset (not a factory reset). It turns back on, connected to the same WiFi my phone is connected to, and has Bluetooth enabled the same as my phone, so all the qualifications for a connection between the headset and the app have officially been met. Yet, my headset still refuses to connect to the Meta app. So, I factory reset my headset. Normally, in the mobile app, factory resetting a headset removes all its info and existence from the app, but it did not. It’s like my headset is no longer paired to the app, but the app is still connected to the headset. I have tried every single pairing method presented to me as if this is my first time turning on my headset. I connected my headset to the internet and said that to attempt pairing. No dice. Got a QR code from my phone and scanned it with my headset using the QR code pairing option. Nothing. Tried connecting my headset to the WiFi as a method to pair the headset to the app because that is 1 of the 3 options I have tried, and as I said, I have already tried the other 2. I even deleted the meta app and reinstalled it. Still. Nothing. I’m 90% sure I have soft locked either my app, my headset, or both, as far as I can tell. I am not spending full price on a new headset for a mistake I did not make. Somebody please help if they know how.

    Hi wailUuM0 πŸ™‚

Normally, in the mobile app, factory resetting a headset removes all its info and existence from the app, but it did not.

It happened to several people that the app still shows the headset after a factory reset.

It's not the end of the world, there is an easy workaround.πŸ˜‰

Just use a different phone(maybe borrow one for a few minutes) or a tablet to pair the Quest.
