Meta Horizon Link app does not show beta tab in settings

I just recently got a new computer and had to reinstall the meta horizon link app and it no longer shows me the privacy, payment, or beta tab in the settings menu. I am still using the same exact account as I did on my old computer. I have turned on the public test channel in app, and everything is updated. I have already checked to confirm that I am still signed up as a developer and that I am verified.
Not sure why these settings are no longer available to me, please let me know what I can do to rectify this issue!

Same here. I guess "beta" is redundant as there is still the PTC setting, which is for beta testing software.

Hi GreatGreenGlob 🙂

To me, the app looks like yours if PTC is turned on.

If I turn off PTC and go back to the build v83, the old look of the app is back.

But as steve_40  said ..... all settings are still there, just moved to general😉

This has happened to me too. I'm on version 83.0.0.311.349.

Whether I toggle PTC or not I don't have access to the beta tab, and so cannot enable 'Developer Runtime Features' to access 'Passthrough over link', which I need.

I've uninstalled/reinstalled the app and tried deleting app cache files. I'm definitely registered as a developer and verified.

Sounds weird..... but maybe they have dev account settings moved to the account section?🤪

Have you checked that?

No there's nothing there related to developer features/passthrough 🙁

big issue Ive noticed is that, when it installs the new it errors in the bg looking for oculusclient.exe but creates client.exe instead, its weird, have u tried the firmware update for the headset thats out, mine says pending but Im worried.

I'm also on version 83.0.0.311.349 after a fresh windows install. I get no access to the developer features/passthrough on this version. My headset is in developer mode.

Support has been quiet as well no actual response other than suggesting an RMA

Same here. We can't dev with the passthrough anymore, since we can't get the permission. I definitely have an verified dev account + headset in dev. It was working before.

You're gonna have to wait till Meta responds, if they even bother. V83 completely shafts Link for EYE/FT purposes, only available over wireless at this point since they've gated the openxr runtimes from it. PTC is the same too just a few diff flags, spent most of the day validating with others, and its more widespread than you think.

Reddit threads, Multiple threads here, discord for vrcft, etc. Lots are facing it, just need more comments and helpdesk reports sent else might be a month before we see them fix it if they even think we need it anymore...

Same here. I can't develop because of this... and the update doesn't solve the problem. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get around this?

If you have a backup of your user directory from prior to this faulty update or another machine that did not update yet and you still see all the beta options, you can shutdown link, then delete three folders from your not working system.

<yourUser>\AppData\Local\Oculus

<yourUser>\AppData\Roaming\Oculus

<yourUser>\AppData\Roaming\OculusClient

Replace these folders from your backup / donor system.

Start quest link. All the beta options were now available to me.

Note: I had uninstalled quest link prior to completing the data delete and restore. Then installed quest link from the latest websetup.

Any chance you could share these files? I have a backup from these files, but it seems they are too recent, and don't bring back the option I need.

I can confirm that using this method you're able to get the Beta tab back though, I just haven't been able to get the dev-options back, again, due to my backup files being too recent.

So sad, I wish I could continue my game, but without hand tracking or pass through, it's just an unplayable slab of junk, nice job Meta.
