Question

Meta Quest Link app version 76.0.0.452.315 has stopped eye tracking with Quest Pro

I fly in DCS World using Quad Views with eye tracking, 6 days ago my Quest Link updated to version 76.0.0.452.315 and today is the first time flying in over a week and eye tracking has stopped.

Quad Views log shows "No data received from the eye tracker in 60 seconds! Image quality may be degraded"

Quad Views itself and DCS World can see each other, but nothing is coming out the Pro to indicate eye position.

It's fine in HorizonOS (v74) and eye tranking calibrates and tests fine. Yes dev mode is on in phone app and Quest Link, and eye tracking enabled as it's always been.

The difference is the update to 76.0.0.452.315

I see others have similar issues and have rolled back to QL V74 as a workaround.

Personally, I'd rather have a fix please 🙂

I can also confirm that with META PC app v 76.0.0.452.315, eye tracking in Quest Pro using Link is no longer working. TG eye tracking still works in VD!

With PTC still enabled, Meta Quest Link installed the v77 and :
     - eye tracking is back on PCVR, working again
     - eye opennes/closeness is back on PCVR, working again

So much stress ... I hope it will last for a few months at least...

After executing Clean with DCS Updater and tested again using PTC versions on PC and QP, Eye Tracking came back to work again. QP can stays at 72 FPS well with either DLSS 4 or eye tracking. But I found if OpenXR Toolkit and Quadviews were both enabled, DCS hang at program loading showing black screen on QP. I waited for 2 to 3 minutes and killed the DCS processes twice. Once I disabled OpenXR Toolkit, DCS loaded up and executed within 20 to 30 seconds. Actually I like the OpenXR Toolkit coloring processing feature that can lower gamma easily,

Oh, OpenXR toolkit has to install before Quadviews. Uninstalled them and install again with the correct sequence, now DCS works great like before and gained better and stable fps in most terrians flying low. 9800x3d was a good cpu for DCS and it helps my 4080 to work another 2 years.

Got Meta Quest Link update to 77.0.0.469.329 and QP to 77.1024 (released date April 29). Eye tracking won’t work most of the time but did work once or twice. Really don’t know what happened here. I guess that might be related to the layoff of RD team in VR labs?

Well, after disabled OpenXR toolkit, eye tracking of Quadviews worked fine in DCS. That was done with two simple tests. I guess OpenXR toolkit supports eye tracking for DFR, even that is disabled, Since OpenXR toolkit was executed first, then passed to Quadviews, I suddenly realized the eye tracking might be filtered out by OpenXR Toolkit API and didn’t pass to Quadviews. Still not sure what happened and this is just my guess with pretty short tests. On the other hand, QP will be disconnected right after it connected to Link Cable sometimes. I will reboot QP or restarted Meta Oculus Link software. The speed test for cable is 2.4 to 2.6Gbps and was pretty stable before. Will get back with more tests if I saw anything new.

With more tests with DCS, Quadviews will report no data received from time to time and was not related to OpenXR toolkit. I can not find a consistent way to make eye tracking working or failing. Any one has similar issue? The Link and QP are in v77 PTC version.

Hi tyeh101, thanks for the info. I've been out of DCS for a while, and tested last night with QP at V76 and Link at V77 and eye tracking fine, with OXRTK enabled.
Are you suggesting the problem was with OXRTK and perhaps QP V74 - since V76 I've had no issue.
I can't seem to stop Link updating itself, but I'm keeping the Pro where it is until there's another reason to update.
I used the adb sideload method last time, and will do that again if needs be.

Thanks for the info, really appreciate it

Eye tracking did work sometimes and might fail if I started DCS with voiceattack, but not 100% sure. Later on, Quest Pro and Link got at least three updates and everything are working fine now.
