Question

Quest 3 and 3s charging stuck at 0% Fix.

Because meta support won't admit this is a recurring problem, they never tell you the fix.

If the headset that is "not charging" shows the battery icon with 4 dots and the 0% text, unplug the charger, attempt to turn on the headset, doing so will finally completely drain the battery.

Once the battery is fully drained you can plug the charger back in, the screen should show a battery icon with a lightning bolt in it, completely unique from the normal charging screen. From here the headset should charge normally.

This issue is happening because something with the firmware updates has caused a bug where the light sensor randomly decides its going to permanently stay on but also drain an immense amount of power. When the headset dies completely it acts as a hard reset and the sensors are forced off properly.

Hopefully this helps someone else out. I've fixed 3 headsets this way.

Hi DetraProtoReal πŸ™‚

Do you mean proximity sensor when you say light sensor?

So, the charger can't provide enough power to charge the headset because it does not go in sleep mode or turns off?

Do you know which version had that bug?
