    Hi there,

We noticed your post and we would love to lend a hand! So to get you back into the Metaverse with us lets try out some troubleshooting.

First thing we would like you to try is to Manually Uninstall and Reinstall the Meta Horizon Link app.

To manually uninstall then reinstall the Meta Quest Link app from your device:

    1. Disconnect the Rift/Link cable from the computer
    2. Disconnect your computer from the internet
    3. Backup any content.
      • Learn how to back up your content in our Help Center.
    4. Reboot your computer into Safe Mode.
      • Learn how on this page.
    5. Uninstall the Meta Quest Link app using the Control Panel.
      • Learn how on this page.
    6. Delete all Oculus folders from the folder called C:\Program Files.
    7. Remove any Oculus folders from the following locations:
      • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData
      • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Local
      • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\LocalLow
      • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Roaming
      • C:\OculusSetup-DownloadCache
      • Note: The AppData folder is usually hidden. Use these steps to access AppData.
        1. Press Windows key + R to launch the Run dialog window.
        2. Type %AppData% in the Run box and click OK or press Enter
        3. File Explorer will launch to the AppData\Roaming subfolder.
        4. Click AppData in the File Explorer address bar to show all three subfolders in the AppData location.
    8. Restart your computer in normal mode.
    9. Reconnect your computer to the internet.
    10. Install the Meta Quest Link app again using the setup tool from our website
    11. Reconnect the Rift/Link cable and re-test the headset

    Hi!

I'm having the same problem with my Rift.

It started with a message about an update appearing in META. After the update, the system keeps telling me to install drivers. During the process, it says an unexpected error occurred.

I tried following your instructions, but it didn't help.

Hi I'm having a similar issue I connect my head set to the computer and try to launch Meta Horizon Link App that never actually boots. It keeps saying "Can't Reach Link Service"  I have a Rift S. I had not played it for a while and recently trying to use it again and the app has changed previously it was just the Oculus App.

Ever since I downloaded the new app and tried to open it has not been successful always showing same error. I have reinstalled and restarted everything several times and always same results. I have my SN and I can't submit a ticket because the form doesn't recognize the SN. I've also emailed to the support email and have not received any type of reply.

Please help me get this issue solved. I don't know what else to do.

So the only way ive got mine to work is completely ignore the update as you can still get it to work well mine does without the update as ive had issues about a year ago with it all. So the easiest way is to get everything ready as you would normally wait for the meta app to launch then disconnect your internet completely, myself I take my ethernet cable out, then wait for it to load it wont be able to get the update but your headset will work as soon as it works turn your internet back in and off you go but DO NOT do the update as you will be back to square one!

Hope this helps my fellow gamers out happy vr ing :)

(EDIT) So the only way ive got mine to work is completely ignore the update as you can still get it to work well mine does without the update as ive had issues about a year ago with it all. I done a lot a research into this and at least I got it to work in the end. So the easiest way is to get everything ready as you would normally wait for the meta app to launch then disconnect your internet completely, myself I take my ethernet cable out, (EDIT) Put your thumb over where your head goes so you can still work with your other hand close the app down and wait for your headset to wake up, then the app should open up as normal and get your self ready. (DO NOT) do the update as you will be back to square one! Any questions id be happy to help just reply to this and il do my best to help you lot out!

Hope this helps my fellow gamers out happy vr ing :)
