The headset turns on, but there is a black

The headset turns on, but there is a black screen. I can hear the sound if I put the volume up but on VR screen is black

Make sure nothing blocks the proximity sensor, for example a silicone face mask or something. It's also possible that the sensor has gone bad.

If the sensor is blocked or bad, the headset won't "notice" that it's worn and the screen remains black. The sensor can be replaced.

if your headset is out of warranty, look for a headset repair service like Fix my Oculus - if you are in the US - or something similar in your country.
