The sound on my Quest 3 isn't working

The sound on my Meta Quest 3 doesn’t work at all.

When I first got it I was setting it up and the sound didn’t work. When I put it above my head (like rested it above my head) the sound worked. Then the sound stopped working completely. I tried casting it and the sound worked there but now it doesn’t anymore. I restarted it, tried Bluetooth, factory reseted it and there is still no sound at all.

if it still doesn't work after you turned on the sound with the button under the headset and the sound slider in headset settings, you should contact support.

did support provide any help? Mine just started today, it worked fine lastnight, today no sound coming through headset, only on headphones.

A reboot should bring sound back. If that doesn't work, make sure there are no bluetooth device connected that could interfere with the sound.

No sound via bluetooth sound bar when I connect my quest 3 it only plays sound on quest browser no where else not in any game bigscreen or any where please help..

To clarify a bit to start with, is there audio on your headset speakers when your this Bluetooth device is not connected? Has this speaker ever successfully connected and function with your headset in the past? Also, is your headset fully up to date with the latest available software via these step? lethialboss How was this eventually solved for you? I just went through chat and they tried to sell me a $450 refurbished device. This is, in all likelihood, not a hardware issue, since the Bluetooth radio and speakers almost certainly didn't fail at the same time.

EDIT: Just solved this myself using the Meta Quest Software Update tool: https://www.meta.com/help/quest/software_update/. It reinstalled the same OS version I had, but it solved the audio issue. My interaction with Meta Support was awful. Sharing with others so they can see what to expect:

After careful reviewing, we have verified that your device, which has the serial number XXXXXXXXXXXXXX, is out of warranty based on the purchase and activation dates after examining your order and device information. As a result, we will not be able to replace your device under warranty.

We would like to thank you for your continued patronage and let you know that we now offer a Meta Out of Warranty (OOW) program that enables you to buy a refurbished device at a lower cost than the original. With a 90-day warranty, it is well worth the cost.

The out-of-warranty return process is similar to a normal replacement, except you will be paying for the service. Once the old product is received and processed, a replacement will be shipped. Your payment method will be charged when the replacement product has been prepared for shipping. Just to let you know, the refurbished Meta Quest 3 512GB headset is only $459.99 USD. Though I know that this is not ideal, I can assure you that the replacement is much less expensive than the original headset.
