Question

V77 - IPD popup

With v77 on my Quest 2 seemingly at random a popup graphic with two eyes with lines running down from the pupils to a number (63) shows up. It's only visible briefly, too fast for me to react and get a screen shot.

Why is it showing up? And other than moving the eyepieces manually on the headset, where to you set the IPD? How do you disable this annoying popup?

Same here. But on my Quest Pro. The pop-up displays IPD 0.0 and appears frequently.

I was testing something on my Quest 2 the other day and the message popped up on that too showing 63. The quest 2 does not normally display IPD 😂. Not had it on the quest 3 for while tho.

Every time i update the quest or when I turn it on and it behaves a little strange I 💩 my pants 😂.

I only get the popup when playing PCVR with my quest 2, randomly, for about 3 seconds. Happens about once for every hour played.

Oculus support apparently exclusively consists of bots that cannot answer questions. They can only demand log files and offer standard troubleshooting without focusing on the actual issue.

So don't put your hopes on Oculus support.

This showed up annoyingly as I was trying to capture video footage of my VR game, so some of the shots are just ruined by this popup. Hopefully they'll patch it if enough people mention it.

Make sure to say something if this is happening to you.

I'm communicating with @MetaQuestSupport in private, looks like they don't even understand what the problem is. They ask strange questions, such as "can I close the pop-up window". They suggest standard steps like hard reboot and software update, but this doesn't help, as expected. Definitely, It should be fixed in the software, but it seems that there is no communication between support and developers. 😞

Now they suggest a factory reset. Did somebody do the factory reset? Have it helped with the IPD problem?

In all  honesty I can't really see that working. Its a bug which will just resurface after a factory reset (which causes you to redownload all your games, hide all the titles you have  painstakingly hidden over time etc). Its not happend again on my headsets for a while now. Its just META's typical responce instead of finding the root cause a BUG. Its not isolated as in maybe just you and you have corruption which a factory reset would probably fix. Its happening to many many people which Meta know about but still talk to you and give suggestions as if you are the first case. Maddening
