I've had that problem with my quest 2 and ALVR solved it for me. It does require a bit of setup, but nothing too crazy for the average person and before you say it can't use the link cable, check out this article

You might need to reboot your PC or pair the Link app with the headset again. This happened to me once after a PCVR game crashed while playing.

    Hi there,

We understand you are encountering issues with your PC not detecting your Quest 3 when using cable Link. To resolve this issue we recommend the following steps:

    • Restart your headset and computer.
    • Update your Meta Quest software and drivers.
    • Disable any firewall or antivirus software that may interfere with your Link connection.
    • Uninstall and reinstall the Meta Quest Link app on your computer.
    • Log out of the Meta Quest Link app and log back in.
    • If you're using Link, make sure that Air Link is turned off.

If these steps do not work, please don't hesitate to reach out to us through private messages. We'd be happy to explore alternative options!

I've just found a better fix that doesn't require restarting your PC. On your PC press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to open the Task Manager. Click on SERVICES in the left panel. Find "OVRService (Oculus VR Runtime Service)". Right-click and select "Stop". After the service has stopped, right-click it again and select "Start". The QuestLink app will reopen by itself and the headset should now be able to connect to the PC.
