Meta quest 2 pairing code not working

I have put in the code that my occulus has given me, but it always says it could not be found. I have tried every possible solution that has been given to me by the app.

Hey there, Skunch_Skunch. We can definitely understand how concerning it would be for your headset to not pair correctly with the app, and we'd be glad to help out! Here's some steps to try out to see if they help, let us know how it turns out!

  • Ensure the phone's Bluetooth is turned on and the headset is turned on.
  • Ensure the app and headset are using the admin account, and not an additional account.
  • Clear the Bluetooth cache on the phone. (see below)
  • Power cycle the phone and the headset.
  • Power off and then back on again. If unable to power off the headset normally, hold down the power button for 30 seconds.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the Oculus application on the phone.
  • Ensure the phone and headset are connected to same wireless network.
  • If using a dual-band router, also make sure they are connected to the same band (2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz) as well.
  • Try using a different phone.
  • Factory reset the headset. (See below)

Bluetooth information may vary from device to device.

On an Android device

  • Open Settings and go to Apps.
  • Go to Bluetooth
  • Tap on Storage and Clear Cache.

On an iOS device

  • Open Settings and select Bluetooth.
  • Forget every Bluetooth device in the My Devices list using the "i" icon.
  • Restart your iOS device to clear the cache. After restarting, you will be required to re-pair with Bluetooth devices again.

Factory reset From the Headset:

  • Power off the headset.
  • Press and hold volume down & Power.
  • This will boot into the USB Update Mode menu.
  • Press volume button to move selection, press power button to make the selection.
  • Navigate to Factory Reset and press the Power button.
  • The device should now begin the Factory Reset process.

We'll be looking forward to hearing back from you!

I’ve tried all this and still doesn’t work. It sees there is a headset to pair, it accepts to code and as it’s pairing it gives me the error message. I’ve tried all the above unsuccessfully.

Hello dream_vr11. We're bummed to hear that you're not able to pair your Quest 2. We'd love to assist with getting this issue resolved and you back to gaming! We appreciate you attempting those troubleshooting steps and we have just a few more we'd like to exhaust:

  • Make sure both devices are updated to the latest versions
  • Make sure both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi (If you have a dual band network, these devices must be on the same frequency)
  • If your headset is being used by multiple people, you may need to log out and back into the Meta Quest app.
  • Factory reset

Once you're able to give these a try, please reach back out to let us know what worked! We look forward to hearing from you soon!

good morning, good afternoon or good evening apparently I am not the only one with the same problem and I am glad on the one hand that I am not the only one and it saddens me that this is happening to all of us.. i have been trying to solve this problem for more than 2 weeks from many sides but I have not been able to do it just because the pairing system i.e. the 5 digit code does not work for me and I don't know if when buying other glasses I will have the same problem,., but seeing that if there is a solution gives me hope to fix my glasses.. i'm following the steps and I deleted the bluetooth cache, but I have a doubt that it is the one that indicates that both the cell phone application and the headphones are using the "administrator" account and not an additional account could you explain this point that I did not understand please. to continue with the solution process and tell them if it worked out or not.

i am waiting for your reply

Hi I just read a post from a user that shows step by step how you can pair the viewer.. but I got to a point where the viewer must be connected to the home wifi network and to me that point does not figure me out shows me another problem; that is updating my glasses to an updated Firmware version and when I try to update the firmware manually by ms-dos and by a program called Sidequest.. the viewer can be updated manually.. but to do that I must have the "developer" option activated from the mobile application in "Viewer configuration" the problem is that when I enter the mobile application that option comes out "disabled" since another person explained to me that that happens because the headphones are not 100% linked to the application and there it pulls me back to the first problem that is the issue of "Pairing the viewer with the mobile application using a 5 digit code" that does not work for me, because when I do it throws me a warning saying " connection error to the viewer" or not found..  and there I get stuck again.. I am sad and disappointed because I find a solution and then another obstacle presents itself in this daring taking away the hope of fixing my headphones.

Facing the same issue here. I’ve tried all the possible solution steps provided and none of them worked out.

Feeling frustrated because my son was using his oculus normally then all of sudden an error on account center was kicking him out from the games followed by an error. After a while we decided to factory reset. Now, we cannot pair at all.

PLEASE HELP!

Hey there, @TamperedMarioBros! Absolutely no user should have to continue dealing with pairing issues preventing them from accessing their games and apps, so we'd like to look into this situation for you! Could you please provide us with a list of troubleshooting steps you've taken so far? We would also appreciate it if you ensured that you completed the following:

  • Make sure both devices are updated to the latest versions
  • Make sure both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi (If you have a dual band network, these devices must be on the same frequency)
  • If your headset is being used by multiple people, you may need to log out and back into the Meta Quest app.
  • Factory reset

Once you're able to give these a try, please reach back out to let us know what worked! We're looking forward to your response!

Here's a work around for the pairing issue.

I know just enough about tech to look like I know what I'm doing.

I’ve tried all of the below and can still not pair my headset to the app. Considering how much these things cost, it should easily be able to pair, and this is absolutely brutal and beyond frustrating on the headset. It gives me my code to pair the head to parrot, I put the code in and it says no headset found. I’ve tried everything that you guys want me to do and it still doesn’t work. I’m not sure what else to do at this point.

If anybody has any suggestions about how to make this thing work and properly pair, I am all ears because at this point I am I am about to just give the thing away

I had the same problem I contacted meta support and they sent shipping labels so I could send my headset back and they are sending a new one this was very recent as well as I’m shipping my one that won’t pair tomorrow it seems to be a hardware issue and a very common one that a lot of the time can’t be fixed

The solve for this problem:

  1. Put on your headset
  2. Go to settings (bottom left where you see the time, wifi icon, battery life)
  3. In the search bar of settings, type "Pair"
  4. Click Pairing code (takes you to the "About" page in settings) -- your pairing code will be right there.
  5. Type that into your phone app

This was brutal to figure out but i found a youtube video from a guy named Zimtok5 (go subscribe to him or like the video if you want to thank someone).
