Meta Quest Link Update: Link Launch Issue Resolved

Hi everyone,
We recently identified an issue with Meta Quest Link unable to launch which caused users to be stuck in the app launch loading screen. We’ve now released an update that should resolve this problem.
What’s changed:

  • The main issue is fixed, and you should be able to use Meta Quest Link as expected.
  • Please note: For now, you won’t be able to see your hands in Dash. However, raycasts are visible, and you should be able to interact with games and other content as usual.

Thank you for your patience while we worked on this fix! If you continue to experience any issues, please let us know in the comments.

This somehow made the issue even worse because now after it loads (if it even gives me the option) the whole screen would freeze indefinitely not allowing me to play before was a issue but was fixable with workarounds like turning off the Wi-Fi but this issue seems to have no fix and from such a big company as meta issues like these is upsetting please give us users a way to rollback unwanted updates just so we can use this stupid software's without needing stupid workarounds.

This company needs to be investigated as I do not know my PIN number for the store and when I apply to receive a new one, I find another webpage shows a message that says that there has been too many requests, (server error 429) for which I know that I had requested ONCE for the first time and the same message says again. If META are responsible for this then they should NOT be trading. I even tried to send an email to require a PIN, but no email was sent for me to change my PIN so it's either a scam or there is an amateur reason for this business.

This might be a temporary issue, perhaps there are too many requests in general.....not from you 😉

Years ago, I typed in the wrong store pin and needed a new one. It worked without issues.🤷‍♀️

Maybe try it from the web page if you tried it through the app, or vice versa.

What use is this? I cannot see the PIN it wants me to create! All I see is 4 dots! Is this a genuine META website, or is it a joke website? If it's the latter it's not funny. The system asks me to set a new PIN for which it needs to match my original PIN. There is no 'eye' icon for me to see the actual PIN. Why doesn't META supply a professional service for the public because all I can see at the moment is some dumb idiotic website that doesn't know what the people behind the scenes are doing. Perhaps Zuckerberg needs to go to night school and study computer science before making people go nuts with his stupidity. Honestly, META is so hard done by. It looks blatantly obvious that the people behind this are the most dumbest people on the entire planet!

I understand that us PCVR users are not your main demographic for Quest owners and I don't mind if updates for PCVR are few and far between.  But can you guys stop breaking PCVR every time you launch a new update?  Honestly just get PCVR back to a stable place and LEAVE IT ALONE for the love of god.  I don't remember a single update in the past year that has improved my experience using quest link, but I can think of many time where updates have ruined my experience.

Nothing has been fixed.

Use Meta Quest Link as expected? Nice joke...

Connection via Meta Link is now available and the Q3 connects to the PC, but it looks like 144p and 10MBit/s bitrate.

Usually i am on 960MBit/s running via an Asus BE98 router, but this is ridicilous.

Unusable, looks even worse than Q3-standalone (yes, this is possible, worse looks than standalone).

Link now launches but shutsdown after a while.  Consistently.  I've tried this in more than one programme.  After about 15 mins, the headset stops tracking and goes blank.  It takes a computer restart to get it running for another 15 mins.

Still not resolved!

Link and Air Link are now working fine with both my QPro and Q3 headsets.  Rtx5090 with nvidia 591.74 using DDU in safe mode to properly uninstall previous driver beforehand.   Win11 graphics hardware acceleration graphics disabled and game mode off.

Oculus Debug Tool (ODT) all defaults/zeroes except link settings distortion low, dynamic bitrate encoding enabled, and 750mbps max dynamic bitrate.  This allow me to use the same ODT for both Link and Air Link.

Using VR/ Meta Link I have been up, running and stable for 2 weeks with no issues at all EXCEPT VR screen a bit jittery on link startup but it only lasts 5 seconds at most.  Running iRacing Sim and all is great.  FPS a consistent 120 using no debug mods.

In latest Meta Horizon version: 85.0.0.239.552, there seems to be a new bug. After establishing Link, screen goes black or freezes after a few seconds (inside the headset). Tracking and audio seems to work fine, but black screen, or frozen image (last frame). Without starting any VR game, just inside Meta Link universe (the one with a grid on floor/celing)

Sorry but I don't have this issue mate.  Maybe go to the meta support website, download the latest meta-link app and run a Repair.  I've often found this helps.

Getting started with Meta Horizon Link app | Meta Help Centre | Meta Store (en-gb)

Also, try a little troubleshooting.

Set up and connect Meta Horizon Link and Air Link | Quest help | Meta Store (en-gb)

Otherwise, contact meta support including your log files and see if they can help.  Good luck mate and cheers.

We had 4 different people, in two different countries try this - with same result (Norway and Germany). Happens consistently - ie. every time establishing link.

Can you fix the problem with the new update that everyone is having

TTV_NatashaaaVR  Only Link/Air Link issue I've noticed with latest v210 update on both my QPro (mainly using Link with official link cable) and Q3/512Gb (mainly using Air Link with good wifi6 setup) is that Fixed Bitrate seems to be limited to ~700mbps.  Dynamic bitrates are not limited (max 960mbps with Link).  PC specs = 9800x3d/rtx5090/64Gb 6000ram.  Meta-Link pc app settings = 80Hz refresh rate with res slider full right.

I set ODT to all defaults/zeros except link settings = distortion Low, dynamic bitrate enabled and 750mbps Max dynamic bitrate.  This gives me a steady 730-750mbps with Link and 200-230mbps with Air Link.

Link continues to startup fine for me.  If you are getting freezes and/or disconnects, sounds like a usb3 connection issue.  Make sure none of your usb ports have power savings enabled (google how to do this).  Also, try to make sure you do not have any unnecessary usb devices connected since you may run out of usb bandwidth.  Also, maybe try using a different usb port.  Otherwise, contact meta support including your log files (google how to do this) and see if they can identify the cause(s) of your issue.  Good luck mate and cheers.
