Steam link and Airlink are both separate applications with their own development teams, so specific app related issues could be issues related to the applications.

You're missing various bits of information which would make a solution more likely. Such as

  • the date it stopped working
  • did you update the applications prior to it stopping working?
  • did you update the headset prior to it stopping working?
  • What headset is it?
  • Is your wifi quality suitable?

Some advice.

Responding with "it’s obvious” to someone volunteering their free time in the holidays to help, and asking for basic diagnostic clarification, isn’t acceptable.

Those questions are asked deliberately, device detection, model reporting, and software behaviour don’t always line up, and assumptions lead to missed causes.

I’m going to step away from this thread.

Good luck getting it sorted.

but Phybie  screenshots are showing which headset he is talking about..... it is obvious🤷‍♀️

I'm surprised I'm having to state this but a screenshot showing "Quest 3S" does not guarantee the correct physical device, driver, or audio endpoint is actually being used.

After updates, software can

Re-enumerate devices,
Reuse cached profiles,
Mislabel headset variants,
Bind audio to stale / virtual endpoints.

It’s entirely possible for a Quest 3 to appear as a 3S (or vice-versa) while the underlying audio device fails to initialise correctly. This is a known class of issue with Link-based audio routing.

That’s why update timing, headset confirmation, and device changes matter, they’re used to identify whether the problem is:

 Driver re-registration
 Audio endpoint mismatch
Runtime failure
Or a post-update regression

There is a reason why a lot of basic information is confirmed in many fields, not just support. Basic diagnostic steps before guessing at fixes.

If the goal is to actually solve the issue, narrowing those variables is necessary.

Hi Phybie 🙂

On your last screenshot..... what happens if you enable "hear computer audio in vr" instead

of "hear vr audio from computer"?

When you click on the speaker icon on the pc taskbar..... is it also set to Oculus Virtual Audio Device?

Sometimes after an update that setting has been changed .....happened to me.
