Quest 3 right controller won’t wake up

I was playing gorilla tag on my quest 3 and everything was working fine then I put the headset and controllers on the official quest 3 charging dock and a couple hours later when I was going to play vr again I noticed my right touch plus controller not waking up and the headset displayed a message saying “ right controller not connected press any button to wake it up” and I tried replacing the batteries but that didn’t help, then I tried rebooting the headset and it still didn’t work. but when I put the controller on the charging dock it lights up on the charging light on the dock so the controller is clearly being recognized the the dock and is receiving power. this is very weird. Is there anything I can try to get it to wake up and connect?

Hi there beans377,

We noticed your post and would love to lend a hand to get you back to swinging around the forest on Gorilla Tag.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  • Remove unsupported third-party accessories that may affect power, battery fit, or controller detection. For example, rechargeable grips, controller covers, etc.
  • Try Unpairing and Pairing your controller to your headset again.
  • Try rebooting your headset.

If you are still having issues, please send us a private message so we can try out some more troubleshooting steps!

Same issue and it's been consistent. After long sessions of within racing sims, not using the touch controllers, the controllers will go into a deep sleep mode. I've removed batteries and they come back to life for a moment and then sleep again. If I push either the menu button or the meta button it will light the LED but the controller remains unresponsive. No other button lights up the LED. Hand controllers, frankly, stink so I've turned that function off. I use Virtual Desktop for all PCVR as air line or the link cable through the meta software has poor visual quality and framerate is also significantly lower. The only solution to "wake" the controllers up is to shutdown/restart the headset. The is not a solution, it's an annoyance. An annoyance that makes me more and more interested in Pimax or the Steam Frame.
