I found it in Quick Settings/ Settings ( upper left ) / About ( very bottom ) / Pairing Code. ( very bottom )

Ya gotta scroll to the very, very bottom of the About list.  I don't know why this is so hard.  I just spent an hour trying to pair one device.  wtf

The 5 digit code during set up should be getting generated during the setup, if it's needed. I know that with android phones or tablets there doesn't seem to be a need for a code. Or maybe that's because I've set up the headset before. IDK

Lo, a quest! I seek the threads of my future in the seeds of the past.

Hello there! We are happy to help you complete the setup process with your Quest.

Please try the following steps:

  • After powering on your device, enable Bluetooth on your phone and put on your headset.
  • Enter the 5 digit number displayed inside the headset to pair it to your phone. It will show up in the lower right corner.
  • Take the headset off and choose the Wi-Fi network you want to connect to
  • Enter your WI-Fi password

Here is an article with more information on your set up (Quest Setup). Please let us know if this corrects the issue, if not you can submit a ticket for further steps!

Hi! I can purchase and play games in headset and I'm logged in with my Facebook account, but it keeps telling me I haven't completed the setup. My android phone and ipod both with the Oculus app ask me to look into the headset for a 5 digit code but one never displays. How do I "complete the setup"?

The problem is that 5-digit code is only displayed during the first connection to smartphone. It is NOT displayed when you want to pair with another smartphone. The only solution is the factory reset, but all your savings will be lost.

Thank you!! it shouldn’t have taken almost 2 days to pair a **bleep** phone to the quest 2 😂

I have the same problem. My smartphone is saying "Looking For Headset", then asks for a 5-digit code.

There's no code or any other reaction in the headset. It just shows the home screen.

I found the code: put on your headset, go to settings, scroll down, click on ' about', scroll down as far as you can, and you'll find the pairing code.

Oplossing Nederlands:

I’m trying to know how to get the digit code

Putting on headset met with start up screen that says user name steps 1-4 and the top of a light gray box that I presume would hold the pairing code, but there’s no way to scroll down to see it. Tried both joysticks both buttons nothing.
So stuck on the initial user screen trying in vain to scroll down to see the code to pair the device and unable to move the screen down, making this an expensive brick of E waste

Hey there! We see you are having issues getting your headset setup, we would love to help you get things figured out so you can get into VR as soon as possible!

There should not be any screens during the first time setup you would need to scroll to see any pairing codes or other similar things, so just to be sure there are no weird software bugs, could you please perform a Factory Reset?

  1. Turn off your headset by pressing and holding the power button
  2. Press and hold the power and volume down button on your headset at the same time until the boot screen loads on your headset.
  3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory Reset and press the power button.
  4. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

Please give that a shot, and if you are still having issues setting up your headset let us know! You can also reach out to us directly by sending us a PM from our profile page,
