0.7 and Win10

hi all,

any announcement on Win10 and the upcoming 0.7 SDK? I could find nothing regarding that on the announcement blog post. I have been holding off the upgrade for 0.6, but since i get a little nagging MS icon in the task bar every time i boot up, it would be nice to know.

regards

Or you could just read the forum where a heap of people are talking about it working.

Are these people official Oculus reps? No. Plenty of people had Win 10 working with 0.6. Guess what happened when I tried that configuration. It isn't asking too much for a respectful treatment and timely updates. It isn't asking too much to have an official blog post, a change log, or an official sticky on the forums. Customer service should come from the service department, not other customers.

@Hatchetforce: When 0.7 came out, it mentioned Windows 10 support in the release notes (that I'm sure no one reads). There was also an email that went out to the mailing list which confirmed Windows 10 support. Not to mention the 200 threads on the forum discussing it. Also, I was just making a joke. Don't be so serious.

I am signed up and received no such email. I also visited the site numerous times. All anyone has asked for, and it has also been mentioned in relation to other matters is a clear cut announcement. We still do not have one. No one with whom I have spoken knows what "preliminary support" means. Is that really worth a system upheaval and delaying current work by a days or weeks to find out? No. It's the same as when 0.7 was delayed. People on the forum were looking for some indication of what was happening. It takes 10 seconds to post information and that is worth volumes to people who have deadlines and such riding on such small yet significant pieces of information. Another poster and yourself mentioned people on the forum discussing Windows 10 support. Yet it was indicated that we should wait for official support which means ignoring such remarks, such posts, and wait for official word. It isn't too much to ask to be able to come to the site, look at either the blog or a sticky and find the info. It may have seemed like a joke but some people are involved in work where there is a great deal at risk over small pieces of information. Business is serious for some of us. Don't be offended that I needed an informative answer.
