Crescent Bay headphones a joke??

should not be attached where you can't use your own headphones..

personally earbuds are best like the Bose QC20 where it is active noise cancelling

its far superior than over ear because the bass is deep because of the seal

no overear as it heats up the ear as well

"Why would anyone want to use ON-EAR headphones for a long gaming duration? On hear hurts after too long.

I used to work in Quality Assurance at Codemasters (Play testing when I first started out with them) and we used to use on-ear (behind the head frame type) they were very comfy and we used them 8 hours a day 5 days a week (+ weekends), can't say they ever hurt my ears??? I use 'cans' at home (big fat AKG over the head type) and they are far less comfy over a few hours so not sure what you are getting at. Unless we are misunderstanding our definitions of over ear/on ear (the work ones had a plastic loop that went over the ear but the phones were 'on' the sides of the ears, there was no direct pressure pressing on the ears and there doesn't seem to be on the CB prototype either.

Over-Ear: Ears don't touch speaker at all.
On-Ear: Pressure goes directly on the ear.
In-Ear: Well... this one is clear.

Even if the OVR headphones are comfortable, I can't imagine how they could possibly make quality headphones for the rift without added another few hundred dollars to the price tag. Quality headphones are not easy or cheap to make, even in bulk. Perhaps their definition of quality headphones is different than mine. I would like to see a spectrum chart and let the numbers talk. I love OVR, but I think putting any effort into an audio device is a waste of resources.

can never get that bassy feel w/o a high powered electric bill generating sub

I was thinking to get a movie like experience w/o spending lots of money on electric to fill the volume of a room would be to listen to it in a car with a high powered speaker processing system

best way is to make small capsules for people to be in to get that sound pressure feel w/o the need of having high watt systems

couple with a motion rumble seat that tilts would be great

obviously that stuff exist but very expensive

need to bring that kind of technology to common

once VR starts kicking in hopefully that stuff will be affordable as an expensive computer or as low as a new smart phone that people change every year to 2

I remember watching a video way back about people talking about car companies

they were talking about something about people who design for the rich ride the bus to work and the ones who design for the people who ride the bus to work drive the expensive car

Ok well if the built in's turn out to be lacking in bass or whatever, I'll use them for general gaming and dev but for movies, in the future, I can move them out the way and put my good phones on. Flexibility is good.

well if VR is going to get big they might as well make specialized compartments for people to be in for the real total experience

right now some of that exist but only with lots and lots of money

maybe once phones becomes nearly maxed out where they cant do much to the display at all but increase more performance then the apps people use wont be so sophisticated as tablets and laptops would be fast enough to handle what they need to do and super workstations would still be the same as usual

people wont know what to spend on because TV's are becoming ordinary and there would be no need to upgrade anymore past 4K but then the realization of a good VR display BEATS a 4K TV at 50" even at it costing $1k

people would dump money into VR if they can make say a motion seat and VR experience like redubbed old movies with COLOR and old movies into BLURAY that make people REBUY and puts more CASH into the people who did the conversions POCKET

the incentive to work to make $$$ easy but mastering the conversion process and spreading it so we can all benefit from what is made at a super affordable cost : )

I mean in all honesty it's using what has existed that was good and making it improved and a more enhanced experience than dumping millions of dollars to make stuff from scratch which top companies like pixxar would do but for small companies converting what is "old and dead" to new because a lot of people never knew it existed would make it work again but better like playing old games updated into today 3D graphics with better textures and stuff

Difference between good 3D sound and bad. Not saying a pair of headphones will change this but they might be more than that.

Those of us that used to play in the late 90's will remember awesome 3D sound that does not exist in normal computers today. Check these demos, I can visualize the object infront of me when I can even see it, think what it would be with the oculus.
