Getting rid of health and safety warning

What is the proper way to get rid of the health and safety warning in Unity?
In OVRDevice.cs, I tired commenting out this:

if (HMD != null && Input.anyKeyDown && HMD.GetHSWDisplayState().Displayed)
HMD.DismissHSWDisplay();

and adding this to the end of Awake():

HMD.DismissHSWDisplay();

But that only works in the Editor but in the standalone version the head tracking stops working and the warning is not removed.

    I really hope they will get rid of this, at least for developers. They can't be serious with this, it feels like a bad joke.

    I think its annoying too and i think in unity there should be an easy way to disable it but i guess Oculus wants to cover their butts (woudnt be suprised if that was facebooks idea) but still rather annoying a bit to see it EVERY time you load up a game/demo.

    I don't much care if it ends up being required for end-users at runtime, as long as the issues with it get worked out.

    That said, if Oculus really need to cover themselves legally, couldn't they just put the warning on a sticker on top of the HMD? Maybe require in future that all commercial venues (e.g., arcades) display a warning on a large plaque on their walls?

    What I do care about right now is disabling it during development. Can we at least have that? It is supposed to be a developer kit, after all.

    it doesnt really bother me but they could always just put a sticker on top of the unit and have it so you can easily peel it off as everyone would..that way they can say, we warned you...you took the sticker warning off..so its on you now.

    I think now I liken this to putting a message on my pistol that would say, don't shoot yourself...

    on another note..there should be an option in configuration to disable it. lawyers for FB prob advised/mandated this though.

    I quote the "we're not all dumb americans*" thing, who need to read on the washing machine "do not put children inside" because someone may put it and then sue the company.. please keep your legal insanity out of our eyes, i don't wanna see that shit 50 times a day when i'm developing. Case closed i'd say.

    *Not racist at all, everyone has their fuck nuts in every countries, but on the legal-psycho-i sue yo ass for this hot coffee side.. america is the place :mrgreen:

    It is very annoying to see that warning EVERY time. Just put in on a sheet of paper in the box. I have seen that stupid screen 100 times already.

    It's good that there's a warning screen. The other day I started developing an eye problem. I'm not blaming the rift but I suspect it has to do with having a bright screen too close to my eyes. I think it caused a blood vessel to burst in my retina and I was seeing a spot (in real life) that wouldn't go away.

    Thankfully it's clearing up a bit after a few days but for while it was a little bit scary.
    Needless to say I will not be putting screens this close to my face anymore.

    Pretty sure Its not because I'm a dumb American this can happen to anybody.

    Why should that be a problem? The focus is at infinity and the brightness level is way lower than what your eye can see outdoors with the sun. That why your eyes have a pupil which can close itself if somethings to bright.

    That's what I'm trying to figure out which is why I'm not rushing to blame the rift. But I do want to know more about the screen technology. Aren't all of those pixels basically mini lasers shooting into your eyes?

    As a precautionary measure I'm turned down the brightness on all of my displays which may have helped.
    Cyber, you guys got an eye doctor over there at Facebook? Maybe someone over there can check me out, lol.
