64mm is the average eye spacing, which is why it's the default. The value, in this case, comes from the runtime service, and the value can be retrieved by calling an API function. So if an app, even an old app, is rendering properly it should automatically get the correct value from the headset. If it isn't, then something else is broken.

Sounds like something is broken then if every app OTHER than the SDK world demo gives me 64mm reading by pressing space bar?

You can try Live for Speed.
To enter VR - Options... View... 3D.
At the top right of View Options you will then see the IPD reported by the Rift software.
Also the IPD is displayed any time you move the slider.

From a quick test I did, using the updated runtime, the reported IPD when Live for Speed started up was approximately the same value as when I previously exited.

For the record, I think Technolust is just using a really old debug script that might not be displaying the correct IPD. I just left it in for the FPS counter.

My IPD is stuck at 68.2 regardless of the slider position. I checked it in the Lens Spacing settings, in the Oculus World Demo and in Live for Speed, no matter how I adjust the slider it always reports 68.2 mm. Reinstalled the Oculus software a number of times, didn't help. It seems like a hardware issue, does this mean RMA?
