Oculus 3D model

I would like a 3D model of the Oculus Rift to use in Unity for my "turn Oculus on/off" switch. Is something like that freely available? I can make due with a normal picture, but a 3D model would much better fit my environment.

Was thinking you might want to slap more more formal license on it than you have.

Hey thanks ! How exactly do I use this link ? Do I simply put it on the read me file ?

Normally this is how it would look:

This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported License.

But I guess it is OK to adapt it to whatever format you'd like.

EDITED: I removed ShareAlike since it isn't quite what anybody would want, I think, since it appears to apply to the whole of anything you put the model into.

Thanks for sharing this MannyLectro, I was planning on making a model of the Rift for my game, so glad you made this.

Why did you choose "Share Alike"?
With SA everyone who want to use this model has to release the work (demo/game/video) under the same license!
If you alter, transform, or build upon this work, you may distribute the resulting work only under the same or similar license to this one.

Ack, really? I guess I misunderstood the license when I recommended that one. I didn't think it was contagious to the whole work. I was thinking if somebody modified the model that they would need to share it, kind of like the Lesser GPL.

The SA makes sense for videos or music. Where you want, that the user, who want to alter your work, must release the result under the same license. For such small objects like your rift the SA license doesn't fit very well.
Maybe you could choose CC0? :)

I was just trying to promote the Creative Commons, but I ended up giving MannyLectro bad advice, Legal stuff always over-complicates things, but CC should make it simpler as long as you know what you're doing :)

    The original license:

    Hi !

You are free to use this 3d model of the Oculus
Rift as long as you credit me for it !

    Have fun ;) !

    William Burke

I'm not sure what "Have fun" means legally :)

Than maybe the CC-BY3.0 would fit better. With "BY" the user must give credits.

I don't think I am going to give more precise copyright information as it is a completely open work. Do whatever you like with it guys !

I think I will also make a hydra and a leap models.

Thanks Krisper ! Glad you like it !
