Oculus Config Utility question

So Im guessing this tool purpose is for new demos (if the dev supports it) to go to the profile data and auto configure? or its simplier than that? :geek:

I see it also comes with its own folder and .exe with the new unity tuscany... more doubts :?

Yes, the idea is that VR applications can load the profile data rather than having to be individually configured.

    Thanks Worm!

Care to explain why the executable and its folder comes with the new sdk and with the new tuscany?
Each demo is to have its own config folder?

I would expect it to evolve to the point where the specification of the profile is the important thing, not the actual tool. OVR could provide a reference implementation of the tool, but individual games might want to customize the tool to be more specific to their style. The configs themselves should definitely live outside the game folders, probably in a user's home folder or the registry, depending on the platform. It would be important to make sure that the spec for interpreting it makes it clear that if you can't identify a particular value, you need to preserve it untouched when modifying the profile itself.

    Thanks for answering Jherico

So this new tool would be the base/standard config platform we asked for. Great :D
