Oculus development idea with Binaural Audio

Hi guys,

I registered just to post this idea, I think it would be really interesting. Oculus is truly immersive but what about the audio. Binaural Audio provides this for a full well rounded immersive experience.

Someone should create a 3D rendering of the Virtual Barbershop. If you have not seen this yet, grab a pair of headphones, sit back and listen to this at a comfortable realistic talking volume - http://www.youtube.com/watch?hl=en-GB&v=8IXm6SuUigI&fmt=18&gl=GB

Now imagine that, with the oculus hd.

One thing you guys might be interested in; it looks like FMOD is integrating AstoundSound into their next version and they also have a Unity3D integration plugin.

    AstoundSound is pretty convincing:

They've even done an AstoundSound version of the Tuscany demo:

It's awesome to see the renewed interest in 3D sound over the last few years. We're hopefully out of the audio stagnation that we seem to have been in for so long.

    Binaural Audio Headset already exists.
It has nothing to do with oculus VR.
There is already all the software /drivers needed.
All they need to know is where the camera is looking
And the camera is already controled by the oculus rift.

So 3d audio should already be available and perfect with every rift game available.
No need to include it, in the oculus rift. Let the people choose what headset they want.
If they want 5.1 surround sound, or binaural tech.

I just have to say that's for the first time, I prefer Binaural audio, over to 5.1, for the simple reason that 5.1 is a horizontal sound localization (left right / front rear).
Where binaural is also "top/bottom" localization.

Just thought i'd post this if anyone is interested, it's a binaural sound engine made for UDK using udkosc and max/MSP, its not perfect, but free for use if anyone wants to.
