Project GAUNTL33T Haptic Feedback Glove Help Wanted!

Project Gauntl33t

We are working on a haptic feedback glove. The glove will be wireless and provide hard and soft feedback to the user to give the users a sensation of holding objects in the game. Our device should make a good pair with STEM, MYO, PrioVR, and other new tracking solutions. If you are interested please join our facebook group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/536642796371093/

Newest Prototype! Gauntl33t Lance. Early Images
This prototype will use raspberry pi and use a bluetuth dongle to be wireless.

Sorry everyone for not posting a next meeting time yet. School has been keeping me busy :/. I would like to have another chat next Saturday at 12pm CST again to discuss features people would like to see in haptic feedback gloves. The link should be the same as before.

Heres an idea I just thought about.

    Anyone remember these?

What if a glove had tiny pins like here, which were controlled by the game. So if you hold a gun, the corresponding pins would press down to make it feel like your holding it.

I'm no engineer so I have no idea if it could work, but im sure you boffins could come up with something

    Anyways, just an idea.

That would require quite a bit of miniaturization to keep the weight down. I could see a flexible sheet of mini actuators being used for texture. Thank you for the input.

Think of stress ball with human hand palm embossed....mini actuators provide resistance from inside ball to key points ...

OK It is winter break now time to get some steam going behind this project! Thank you Reverend Kyle so much for letting me show it off on you live podcast and everyone for the great input! There is quite a bit of redesigning to do. Most of the weight of the motors should be shifted to a 3D printed arm piece. Also, starting on a Unity Demo will need to begin. Perhaps a game called Barista VR where you get to experience all sorts of feeling sensations in while working as a barista in a small cafe. I propose that on Saturdays from now on holding a DFW VR Meetup. Please post if you are interested in a meeting in person so we can decide a best central location. Can host an Anymeeting too so people out of area can join in on the project. Look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts :D!
