Project GAUNTL33T Haptic Feedback Glove Help Wanted!

Project Gauntl33t

We are working on a haptic feedback glove. The glove will be wireless and provide hard and soft feedback to the user to give the users a sensation of holding objects in the game. Our device should make a good pair with STEM, MYO, PrioVR, and other new tracking solutions. If you are interested please join our facebook group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/536642796371093/

Newest Prototype! Gauntl33t Lance. Early Images
This prototype will use raspberry pi and use a bluetuth dongle to be wireless.

Hey I just joined the FB group. I'm based in SA with my business partner. I just wanted to say hi and that I'm very interested in the progress you guys are making. If any of you are headed to San Antonio let me know in advance and we could meet up.

For any makers out there interested in following along and making haptic feedback gloves with us I am going to start sharing the 3d models as they are developed.

How did the Maker Faire go?

I'm starting a project similar to yours for a course I'm taking. I was wondering if you would mind sharing which motors you chose for the project and why? In exchange, I'll let you know how temperature simulation goes. My group is trying it with Peltier cells, but we'll see if that only results in a lot of burnt fingers.

I'm a bit confused as to how far in development this is, I haven't got a chance to watch all the videos yet seeing as there is several hours of material here. Has anyone gotten a chance to use this yet that can report how well it's working? Even with fairly rudimentary feedback something that is as natural for manipulation as a glove would be an exceptional step for VR, I'm just curious as to how this is shaping up. Also interested in what Seanny is working on, being able to sense temperature changes would be really fantastic as well, though ideally it would be great to have an option for sensing cold temperatures as well as heat.

    The idea look great.
The future is not about control (kinect exist for that) but feedback.

But i think that to have a proper touching experience, you shouldn't only have a single cable for the whole finger.
Each articulation of the hand should have it own cable, and with the combination of each one,

You can recreate any resistance of any shape through the glove.
You would feel the complex resistance from a lot of different shapes .
A ball, a book, a baloon, even a complex object like a sword or arbalest.

But to be able to oppose force to every movment of the hand you need at least the same amount of cable and little engines than you have articulation in your hand.

For the pure "touch" feeling you can think of a lot of little compartiment in glove under the hand that would act like littles baloons, that would expand or compress with air, so you would have feel your skin a little compressed on some parts
You dont need a lot. a little balloon under the 3 part of each fingers, and 2-3 on the palm.

the combination of the two would make the perfect touch&feedback feeling through à real glove in real life.
