Rift + Arduino + Unity3D = Uniduino

There's a new Unity3D Asset called " Uniduino " that allows developers to control external devices from within Unity via an Arduino.

This opens up so many possibilities for developers such as telemetry cameras, motion platforms, trigger lights, wind etc..

The creator of Uniduino is currently creating a tutorials that will showcase how to operate servos / stepper motors from within Unity. You could move your head & have a platform tilt or camera move accordingly...

There's a simple video on the site that shows a gamer playing and lights, wind reacting to his in-game actions.

Fun, I'm curious to see what he builds. Reminds me of an old project working with one of these:

So my question is... what size stepper motor or linear actuator would one require to move the average weight of a player
which I would estimate up to approx. 80-100 kgs

I've been looking at the Nema 34, 42 stepper motors. These are not cheap but can push some real weight around.
I must note only this week I purchased 10 nema 17s for a couple of 3D printers. bumma they're not 42's

note: the three linear actuators used in the above video do the trick.. butI bet they're not cheap.

Then there's the motor drivers... & they're not cheap either & finally the power supply.

So if anyone knows of a cheaper alternative to Nema motors let me know... I was even considering car window wiper motors.
