The Oculus SDK v0.4.1 has been released!
You can download it now at https://developer.oculus.com/?action=dl.

Release Highlights

Added Mac OS support.
Added “Pause Service...” option to the Configuration Utility, allowing 0.3.x SDK applications to run.
Fixed various display driver bugs. Service no longer requires SSE4.1.
Fixed Unity Integration shadow support.
UE4 integration patch is now available that supports 0.4 SDK and runtime.

Make sure to update the firmware and all that good stuff. Gypsy beat me to the punch in the announcements section, though we can discuss the changes here 8-)

I reinstalled mine after installing the new runtime and had no problems at all. I believe I was set in direct mode when doing it.

I agree, the firmware installer should detect what version you have and if it is installed correctly (this can be done by a hash comparison, or something similar).. if the firmware version is up to date and installed correctly, the installer should inform the user that the most up to date firmware version is already installed.

Ok, so the correct path is to, uninstall the older oculus_runtime and then install the new oculus_runtime.exe??, and do not update the Firmware!?

Also where should i unzip the ovr_sdk_win_0.4.1 to?

The configuration utility told me I already had the 2.11 installed, but I thought, well, the release notes say to make sure to update, so I guess I'll install it again.

I guess "if needed" was implicit...

Things that are speculative or implicit should definitely not brick your Rift. This is something that needs fixing ASAP.

On the side note, anyone tried using new "Pause" function on older demos?

I was just following directions! But, to be fair, one shouldn't be able to overwrite the same firmware version, and if one could, it shouldn't result in an error.

Yep, it shouldnt, anyway, you can try to change the Display Mode, the usb (3.0-not 3.0) and give it a try on another computer

I noticed the documentation refers to Unity 4.5 PRO in all cases; is UDK no longer an option here, or is that just a dependency of building the samples?

noob question. I updated my oculus runtine so does that mean i have updated my SDK? What do i do with the new Oculus SDK folder? is that just a folder that has guides and a demo just for testing or is there more to it?

The SDK is only needed for building demos with. If you're just wanting to try out demos other people have created then you will only need the new runtime.

    Hope this helps!

Anyone successful making the dk2 work on OSX? I installed the SDX 0.4.1 and runtime on my Macbook Pro (10.9.4) and I can run the demos but the camera is not detected. In the configuration utility I can see "Camera Serial: Waiting for Camera"
    Is it a drivers issue?

    Thank you guys,

    Diego.
