Sixsense wireless dev kit kickstarter in August

I just noticed this from the Tatical Haptics guys;

Danny Woodall from Sixense, at the Silicon Valley VR Meetup, announces that Sixense will put their wireless dev kit (which they are calling STEM -- Sixense Tracking Embedded Module) on Kickstarter in August, and that it will support tracking up to 5 points (2 of their controllers and 3 other points with pager-sized devices). Their kickstarter will allow backers to get just the 2 controllers, or add up to other tracking modules to their dev kit. They suggested that they would also have tracking modules available separately. — at Hacker Dojo.
Now we know what STEM stands for! And that the kickstarter begins soon. I'm so excited about this!

    Hmm, someone know something more when the kickstarter goes online? 1/3 of august is over.

    They seem to have updated the site with some more info about the STEM system: http://sixense.com/wireless

    Also, new date for the Kickstarter is 9/12 apparently!

    This is definitely something i am excited about. I wonder what the technical specs will be (latency, tracker resolution, tracker "linearity ...") and how it will cost.

    I have a large list of gadgets i use together with the rift - from a leap motion over a wii balance board to a razer hydra.
    To get rid of some cables will always be good.

    You don't find the latency of the hydra to be acceptable?

    Only a couple of hours before the Kickstarter begins - anyone know anything about tiers/pricing?

    Wow, hit its $250k goal in less than a day, and still going strong. Sixsense are ones to watch. Picked up a 3-stem kit myself; figure one for each hand and one on the head. More than that, I'd suspect you'd have problems finding software that supported it.

    It's a devkit; make some software that will support it!
