Sony's Morpheus prototype will be offered to developers

http://uk.ign.com/articles/2014/03/19/gdc-sony-reveals-project-morpheus-playstation-4-vr-headset

Sony are following Oculus lead by making prototypes available to developers. I imagine this will lead to a scramble and it will not just be developers. I imagine that's the reason why Crystal Cove will need to be close to perfect to the consumer version, because everybody will want one, not just us developers.

I have to admit this HMD looks simply stunning. It's got this sci-fi feel to it, bright colors and all. You can see that Sony already has experience when it comes to design.

Unfortunately (or fortunately? :P ) their specs are not as good as Crystal Cove's.
If Sony had released their prototype just few months earlier, maybe they would rake in all the awards?

Sony measure the FOV horizontallyintead of diagonally, so it the same as the Rift. Its like a knock off DK2, with a 1080*1920 LCD and PS Move for tracking. As Sony have pioneered allot in Oleds, I expect any consumer version will have low persistence too.
