Traxion: Haptic Feedback future use?

I was watching some videos from SIGGRAPH 2014 and saw something that kind of blew me away.

Something that small that gives the sensation of direction of force.
It seems to work through oscillation and I believe it may be one of the missing pieces for input.
Does anyone have any more info on this device Traxion?

    That's very interesting indeed.

From the graphs it looks like they discovered something akin to aliasing or hysteresis in the tactile nerves.

I wonder if their math has similarities to MP3 compression...

Beautiful! This reminds me of physics 101 gyroscope effect:

Why didn't anyone think of this! It's so simple.

This could really solve a big missing piece of the puzzle for achieving a fully immersive haptic suit.

that is really interesting and a really creative use of a haptic-feedback system.

i think this has a lot of useful applications.
