Unreal Engine 4 with DK1?

I have the Oculus DK1 and I am trying to use it with the Unreal Engine 4. I am having problems getting the Oculus to work with the engine. On the Unreal Engine wiki, it describes setting up with a DK2. Does the Unreal Engine 4 only work with Development Kit 2? If anyone can help that would be great, thanks.

Yes, I believe it should work. Are you getting a specific error or problem?

That's great news as I use Unreal 4. As one of my latest project I am taking my DK apart so I can use the tracker for another VRGun controller. Does the tracker just output rotation information or will I need to modify the firmware? I have CooCox and a 10 Pin Flasher, but I was thinking it might not be necessary. I was noticing that the trackers are easy to make, less that $40 a chip, way less if you make more, or there $50 each on ebay.
