Windows 8.1 Modern Apps / WinRT support?

Is it possible to use the Oculus DK2 from a Windows 8.1 WinRT / Modern App?

I got a WinRT component using OVR compiled + linked and ovr_Initialize() works but ovrHmd_Create(0) returns a NULL pointer. Without further info.
OVR::Service::NetClient::GetInstance()->Hmd_GetLastError(NULL) returns "Unable to find connection"

I was hoping to initialize the Direct Mode with an HWND retrieved like this

Any help would be appreciated!

As far as I know, the SDK does not work with WinRT due to older native Windows calls.

    Thanks for confirming cybereality.

Would be great to know this for sure.
Also to know if there's something planned along those lines? WinRT and Modern apps might be nice to support due to the ease of deployment through the Windows Store.
