geolocalization while in plane mode

Hi guys, i am a student pilot and like to take pictures while in flight with my meta 2 glasses. I also like to identify towns from above but my glasses cannot accomplosh that without internet connection. I was wandering...if the GPS of my Phone is on and I have download the offline maps for Google maps, why should not be possibile.for my glasses interpolate gps/maps data to give the location and tell what i am looking?!?

Any idea would be appretiated
