Locking device to a single application in Meta Quest 3

Hello everyone,

I am trying to create an application for a museum with the purpose of giving visitors a more interactive experience. However, I have found no way to prevent users from accidentally accessing the menu through the pinch feature, and then exiting the application. Using Shared Mode has prevented this, but it restarts the application whenever the user attempts to leave, causing data such as anchor points for objects in the room to be lost.

Is it possible to require a code in order to access the menu or to leave an application?

Thank you for time.

As far as I know, no. Apps can't disable or password-protect the system menu or require a code to exit. Those controls are managed by Horizon OS for security and user safety. If this is for a museum or kiosk setup, Shared Mode is the closest supported option, but as you've seen it restarts the app. You may need to design around that by persisting your anchor data and restoring it on launch, rather than relying on the app staying open.
